I don't know if it's posted before, but did anyone else notice that major BO confrontation cases (at least, after episode 176) generally occur in winter? I mean:
176-178 - Definitely snowing
307-309 - The snowstorm is used as part of the plot
345 (and cases leading to 345) - Happens in winter holiday (mentioned by Ran), definitely snowing in 338-339
491-504 - Happens in winter holiday again (mentioned by Ran)
Spoiler:
New manga case (Akai's Return) - You can easily see that it's snowing
I know that the time and seasons thing in Conan is screwed up. Of the major BO cases, I don't think 425 happens in winter, but I still find the winter thing quite interesting.

It's definitely for the atmosphere. At one point I went through a bunch of the chapters to try to figure out how much time has elapsed so far and it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. I've come to the conclusion that Detective Conan Japan has extreme weather swings and summer and winter occur at least once a month on average... and a year is about 24 months long. It's the time equivalent of hammer space.

Trying to figure out how time moves in the DC universe will only end with you losing your sanity like so many others before you.

It probably has to do with the time relativity thingy, DC's planet earth ain't the same as ours, it's moving faster than us in space, and as a consequence the time moves slower for them. Ah, and it's got it's own solar system, where the orbits of the planets around the sun aren't ellipses, but are like the shape of the outer roads of this image with the sun in the middle (here represented by protons and neutrons, I just wanted the shape, haha) and maybe some more curves, thus creating multiple winters, springs, summers and autumns a year.

Remember the "before you" I mentioned earlier, this guy is one of them. . The condition is called DCinososis where their attempts of figuring out how time moves in the DC universe has caused them to go insane but the scary thing about this condition is that they do not know they are insane and might even attempt to deny that they are insane. It's a sad sad illness.

Speaking of DC causing insanity, anyone want to help me add to my list of minor characters (who are not police) who show up/get mentioned more than once?
