As for the detective boys...I think Gosho just got bored of them.  They used to be pretty fun in my opinion...now they're just used for placeholders and foil - especially Genta ...

Heji dying would be interesting... Add some angst!Conan (which we don't see enough of, in my opinion)...

Though I'm a Heiji fan, I have to agree that his death is would add something to the series without it being predictable and stale like Haibara dying. It would also show another side of Conan since him and Heiji have gotten close to the point you would think they are brothers.

Heiji dyin has no meaning, after chasin death once, havin him actually dyin dsnt seem any interestin at all, it will only make alot of fangirls cry

overall Shinichi dyin is def best thin to do to make the plot better, even if it is predictable.

so far there is no point of Ai dyin, since she hasnt even expressed her 'love', so theres no meanin for her to die.

See this is why I told everyone Takagi ending up with Satou would mean an early death for him. He finally got some from Satou and now everyone is setting up his funeral because they know Satou will directly/indirectly get him killed. If only that fool Takagi would of listened and ran towards Yumi instead..if only.

Yeah Heiji has danced with death a few times but so has most of the main cast and it's not his death that would be interesting, it would be how it changes the people around him, specifically Conan.

Shinichi dying would leave the viewer feeling unsatisfied. The reason Conan does most of what he does is to ultimately become Shinichi again, so him dying would feel like the series and all he did was just pointless. In a short (13-26) anime, the main character dying sometimes helps the ending but in a series like DC, I think it would just frustrate most of the viewers and hurt the ending. But that's my take.

Actually, I really do want Conan to die. I love him and all, but damn, it would be an amazing ending that would make me cry for years to come.

For the story, I think Megure's death would be the most fascinating. As far as I recall, he has no love interest (making Gosho more likely to off him). I believe his death would set off the metro police into action (against the BO or with the FBI, maybe). Plus it changes the hierarchy structure of their office (promotion for Sato?). Also, it would be nice knowing that Gosho is capable of writing off a character (since Megure doesn't have disguising abilities).

That would be great! In fact, it would be so good I'd litterally roll over the floor laughing, just from the plot twist! We should make a fanfic with the bad ending. I can see the last scene already: A setting sun dying everything in red, Ran waiting in front of the window of the detective bureau, crying, forever en ever for Shinichi to come back or make contact with her. With no avail ...

I thought he had a wife. That was why he always wears that hat, to hide the scar he got for protecting her or something like that. She got a scar too, just like him, as far as I know ...

So far the possibilty of any of the good guys dying has been very small, it's still unclear if Akai has died or not, but sometimes to kill off one the characters helps the story, so I'm not closing the door to that , but I see it unlikely to happen in the DC world ^_^
