That's the point. If this continues, soon Gin will be seen as a cute character, which he's not.

Sorry to dredge an old thread but I was translating bits of the official Conan guidebook (Conan Drill page 239 for those interested) trying to figure out the relative ranks of Vermouth and Gin and in the process and found some ... interesting info.

The arrow drawn between Gin and Vermouth says "肉体関係" which translates to "sexual relations". I suppose that's a definite a confirmation as it goes. The arrow between Gin and Sherry says "æ

Like it or not, this is the official official book. The 336 or so page one. It has a lot of info that doesn't make it into the manga, like a map of Beika, and how much Kogoro has pulled in from each of his cases, and where Gosho got his inspiration from to give you examples.
