Parallel universes = You already are super rich in an infinite number of parallel worlds. You are also dead in an infinite number of parallel worlds. Same goes with female/married/sick/CEO/pop star/orphan, etc.

I believe in this theory. It's just... so awesome.

Re: The Existence of A Parallel World
Not really, since you are you in this universe. They're might be someone who has all your qualities and leads your exact life, except for the fact that they're, you know, a genius, only that person isn't you. That's the biggest issue I usually find with parallel Universe theories. Parallel universes have nothing to do with this universe, they're just a lot like the latter.bluekaitou1412 wrote: seriously though, don't you think it's fascinating to know that there exists a parallel universe
maybe i'm a genius in that world

For those a bit more curious:Personally, I don't like parallel universe theories. Call me egotistic, but I like thinking that our situation is unique. However, I do understand that they could be a very real thing.Spoiler:

Re: The Existence of A Parallel World
this is somewhat akin to asking how physics determines the path of a ball thrown at 65 degrees through the air at 50mph, because after all, that's numbers as well.Conan324 wrote:Spoiler:
im a high school student (not detective, not shrunk) and im one of the best students at math there, ive always liked math but really, how can math says that there are tiny circular loops and so and so??? they're numbers...........
I don't claim to know the math behind string theory, but the point of science is to describe the world, and without math it wouldn't be able to do any of that. So, though they may be "just numbers", those numbers are what have helped us discover almost all facets of the natural world, so to wonder why they can't determine something that's just on a somewhat smaller scale is somewhat silly imo.

Re: The Existence of A Parallel World
It describes stuff much like y=mx+b describes a line, or x^2+y^2=r^2 describes a circle. Of course, this is oversimplifying things, but these rules can be extended beyond 2d graphs and can then be used to model various things (like current systems and magnetic fields) in 3d.
I'm not the best at explaining things, but basically, if you want to find out how, stay in school until you learn the more advanced concepts.
And then if you don't see how, you can take actual physics courses and hopefully make things more apparent.

Well maybe, the parallel bluekaitou1412s are a lot better than the bluekaitou here. So what if we find a way to cross between those parallel worlds?
It's scary to think that at least in one of those parallel worlds, no bluekaitou1412 exists...

Eh... that's a lot to explain, you know... maybe you can research for yourself?Conan324 wrote: i understand that math can measure and estimate stuff, but how does it describe these stuff? i mean, i keep reading that math can describe almost anything, how is that so??

You can make mathematical models (most of it is calculus). For example, you can graph the population of wolves and rabbits in a forest.Conan324 wrote: i understand that math can measure and estimate stuff, but how does it describe these stuff? i mean, i keep reading that math can describe almost anything, how is that so??
The strange part was that... the math was developed just for fun, non-applicable purposes (by Euler, who was not known for this math) and someone took them and applied them to the world. After a LOT of tweeking with the equations that define the (originally) 10 dimensions as bands of strings so that the equations fit with the laws of physics that we know so far, they did even more work to make it 11 dimensions.Akonyl wrote: I don't claim to know the math behind string theory, but the point of science is to describe the world, and without math it wouldn't be able to do any of that. That's for BK so that we're back on-topic in the off-topic zone. Of course it's not real. Just any other theory, like all sci-fi (for now).Akonyl wrote:blurfbreg wrote:bluekaitou1412 wrote: Well maybe, the parallel bluekaitou1412s are a lot better than the bluekaitou here. Re: The Existence of A Parallel World
perhaps "actual science" wasn't the best word, I just mean that doctor who makes pretty much no attempt to consistently explain things, and was correcting the notion that in Doctor Who, you "can't change the past".blurfbreg wrote:That's for BK so that we're back on-topic in the off-topic zone. Re: The Existence of A Parallel World
Well in science we have equations like below
P=Hdh/dt + Zdz/dt + Ydy/dt + Xdx/dt + TdT/dt * a Constant
definding at one point P(H,Z,X,Y,T,) at t Time. P being Pressure, H being density, X being air movement in the X direction, Y being air movement in the Y direction and T being temperature d(?) means the change of ?, dt means change in time
in a way this is SIX dimensions

I think it's possible,, given that (It'll take awhile to load completely, like at least 2 mins)bluekaitou1412 wrote: I think it'd be cool. (Someone here is watching too much Reborn! and TRC)

Then these solar systems together called galaxy, groups of galaxies spread across the universe, for all we know, there are universes spread across who-know-what...
It really is impossible there are no worlds connected to us, but it's possible these worlds realized how stupid earthlings are and decided to never communicate with us
