The girl (the childhood friend) is definitely suspicious. Why would she call all of a sudden after 13 years? Plus with all that flyers and stuff. O.O
Sorry, didn't see that. BUT: They might easily not have recognized each other, especially with Azusa being distraught by the murder case. Did Chiba even introduce himself?
I think we can safely exclude anyone who has already found their significant other like Kobayashi or Sato. Or Takagi, for that matter. Yumi would be rather cheesy as they have met frequently. Wouldn't be unlike Aoyama tho.
Tomomi Sakaguchi or the actress from the recent Onsen case simply aren't recurring characters. Was Eri's assistant ever in the manga?
So there aren't many women left. Azusa it is.

No no no, SatoxTakagi was already concluded.. Prolonging it any longer would just become unnecessary fillers..
Unless he wrenches it. If it were me, I'd throw in a female competitor for Takagi and give Sato some pain and Takagi some second thoughts and extra jealousy from his coworkers. Dangerously pointy love triangles are fun.
It is odd the girl has Chiba's phone number. Yumi would have Chiba's phone number, but would anyone else? It could be listed publicly, though. The good thing about Yumi is that she hasn't shown any overt romanticism towards Chiba, so if she already knows Chiba is the boy from back then, then maybe that means it's a childhood relationship that didn't work out and thus is a trope breaker. Maybe this is symbolized by beta tapes gradually getting out-competed by VHS... [/high school literature paper]

Wouldn't Chiba recognize Yumi's voice over the phone?
It might even turn out to be a new recurring character. *hopes* Then she could be a BO member and break Chiba's heart. (Or turn him. )

Which is why there is no way Gosho will ever do that. He had plenty of chances to do that with ShinRan (all the guys he threw into Ran's life)

Kuriyama Midori: Chekhov could you please find out if she and Chiba ever met? Or at least all her appearances?
Based on the Chinese subs, that was cute. I'm glad it was a third party because that's one more character for the cast. Now if only she is a BO sleeper agent...
Anyway, short file is abnormally short. Maybe we'll get something interesting next time? If it isn't BO or scar Akai, how about a child kidnapping case with Okiya has the assistant of the week? All the readers are going to forget about him if he doesn't make another appearance soon... (Too bad about the one week break after 743)

If you mean Megure's wife, she's too old. I never considered her viable in the first place because of that. Otherwise don't know which character you mean.
I think that's Eri's assistant. I don't think she ever met Chiba, she's mostly staying at the office. But I don't know in which files she appeared, so I could easily be wrong.

She's for the most part anime only as far as I am aware. In the manga, she's only been in a few scattered panels.
I think this means that we have a rather short arc ahead of us. Possibly followed by a plot arc?
A short also means, Conan won't be able to do that much research about the girl. Points towards a person they'll just run into.

Yeah, what did he get info about? Betamax? lol
Mangaka get their work in at least a month ahead of time. The results of his research won't be seen until August at the earliest, assuming he was researching for the next case he was working on.

I thought he took a break after getting chapter 740 in, ok then.
Haibara: They have a scent, a scent all of them carry...
Conan: No wonder, they're drunkards
