I have my provisional license, but I can't get my full license until i'm 18.

she lives in scotland, but there's a similar thing over in the US nowadays (well, in maryland at least).

Learners Permit - can get this at (I believe) 15 years 9 months. You can drive, but only with a licensed passenger.
Provisional License - can get this at 17, after doing a certain amount of driving and taking a test. Basically the same as a license, but you can't drive between something like midnight-5am, and there are some restrictions on your passengers.
License - well of course you know what this is, and if you have a provisional it automatically becomes one at 18.

In Texas, unless something has changed in the last few years, you can get a permit at 15 and a license at 16 once you pass the driving test.

In the UK, you can apply for a Provisional Driver's license at age 17. This allows you to drive as long as someone with a full license is in the passenger's seat; this allows you to take driving lessons and practice driving, so that you can take your driving test as soon as you turn 18 if you wish. You can't get your full license until you're 18.

in my country you can start to learn at the age of 16, and get full license at the age of 17.
