Detective Conan: The Raven Chaser

Hey everyone! I just just went to the Conan Movie site (http://www.conan-movie.jp) and it is updated with the new upcoming movie. However, it is NOT called Jet Black Chaser, but The Raven Chaser. As for the release date for the movie, my predicted release was a day off, so it'll be in theatres in Japan on April 18th.

Seems it was translated incorrectly. The Japanese wording for the title hasn't changed.

Like many of the titles, they are leaked earlier than the official site goes up--but long before we know what their version of the English title is. "Raven" is inferred from the Japanese and is far from actually being stated, but this is how it always is with the titles. The translation is definitely accurate, but it just isn't the title they were aiming for in English.

Actually, I think "The Raven Chaser" is a great title for this upcoming movie. I just looked up the the definition of Raven in my Merriam-Webster Dictionary and it read "a large black bird related to the crow". Considering how the Black Organization somehow has some relation to the crow, I believe this is the appropriate title.

A Raven can also symbolize death, just like the skull-headed version of Gin in Gosho's poster version.

Chasing the black organisation...I guess that's appropriate.  Jet black chaser sounds so much more "actioney" though xD.

seeing how the first translation was "jet black", I think they mean the COLOUR raven here, not the actual bird. Meaning the colour of a raven, which is greyish-black. Jet black is more a blackish black I think, if you still get what I mean XD

So basically, I think they're talking about the BO doing the chasing here. Since it ís the BLACk organization after all, and their "theme song" is connected to a raven ...
