What made you start watching DC?

I got more and more attached to the series because of the interesting cases and twists in the mysteries.  The characters were also really different from a lot of series I've seen.  It was also something fresh and new, given I haven't seen a lot of cartoons that laid out a mystery so meticulously.

Always loved mystery shows, probably started somewhere in my early childhood with Scooby Doo (It's a fun show with a bit of mystery for young children!). Beside that, the only mystery show I watched was a Dutch show about a detective(Baantjer), but it was pretty mystery free TV. Only anime that aired beside Pokemon was probably Dragon Ball Z, BOTH of which I secretly watched while telling everyone I didn't watch such "childish" cartoons... The things we do, to not stand out as a child T_T. After a few years of silence on mystery area I started getting watching more anime and after I saw Detective Gakuen Q or something like that (to lazy to check right now) I started wanting more. That's when Conan presented itself to me by being listed as similar anime (I believe it was on anime-planet). Refusing to watch any show in small youtube format, I wanted to download the episodes for easy viewing and searched a site where it had those. And this is how we get to Kaizou .

When it aired on Adult Swim in 04 I was 13 at the time making a transfer from cartoon to anime.

I started watching DC when it was aired in a local channel. My brother and I got hooked up and also my cousins. What can I say, it's an awesome anime that we couldn't resist! But sadly they stopped airing it and years past that I've forgotten about it. Then I got addicted to Ranma 1/2, where my friend told me how Ranma's seiyuu suck. I checked her out on wikipedia. Searching for Megumi Hayashibara, I saw the characters she voiced. There I saw Detective Conan -Haibara Ai. Bold names are major roles. That was when I searched for the episode where Haibara first appeared. After that I remembered how much I liked DC. I started looking for DC episodes on the internet and I found Kaze and Neg. But Kaze started leading me to something like a selling site so I search google for other sub groups. That's where I found Kaizou. After that, I don't know why, but DC was aired again in our local channel and appeared on Animax as well. It's creepily funny. I also saw knightus manga. Then all that searching ended up with DCTP!!!! Thanks DCTP for keeping DC alive even outside Japan

One time when i was in sixth grade (that was a long time ago) i woke up in the middle of the night and started flipping channels and just began watching the cartoon network channel, but at night it was adult swim.  I saw a little kid doing all of these weird stuff and i was too lazy to flip another channel.  I didn't think much of it but then a few nights later I woke up again and saw the same looking kid solving mysteries!  After that I began waking up at about three a.m. in the morning and began watching what I have come not know as Detective Conan. =]

I ended up seeing the 2nd episode of Case Closed on Adult Swim. Realizing that Adult Swim sux and never finishes airing series I then went off to the Vast Internet to search for episodes. I then found myself on a website and started downloading, before I knew it I was a typical Otaku watching anime.

It was when my sister brought home a conan manga which was in my first language. It is actually the first ever manga that I read. Lost interest some time after because of translation errors (Hattori was named Hatsutori, big speech bubbles with only one word and many others) but picked it up again last year after noticing there were many Shinichi episodes that I didnt watch plus the movies.

I was watching Adult Swim at 12:00 for some Anime I can't remeber when AS started advertising Case Closed but the way they advertised it made it seem like another Cyborg 009(Don't know if it was the dubbing and edits but that Anime was horrible) so I ignored it. Then a few days later I was up again at 12:00 am, even though I had school the next day, watching the same Anime which escapes me at the moment when afterwards Case Closed airs. This was episode 3 (the yoko case) which got my attention since I'm a detective-mystery and AS initial advertisements just showed clips of Ran trying to kick Shinichi in episode one along with other scenes and put it on speed making it seem like a typical High School Comedy. After seeing a few good more episodes like the Museum Murder and the Burning Man Case I was hooked.

I first found the manga about three, four or five years ago when scanning the nearby library's manga shelf. I had just gotten used to the new 'Japanese cartoons you read backwards' and the Japanese fandom was just starting to spread here in Finland. I skimmed the first book and it seemed interesting, because it was a detective story.  I borrowed it, read it and thought: "Hmm... That was actually prettu good, even though it's drawn in a big-eye-Japanese style." Later when I discovered series like Tokyo Mew Mew and other "über-cute" animes, I didn't think anymore that Conan's eyes are too big. ^^

That started it all. Currently I'm reading the manga as the Finnish translation, so I'm going at book 50. I haven't watched the anime much, only some of my favourite cases. I dislike the style the anime is drawn in the beginning, but now I think the style's just getting better and better. A few weeks ago I discovered this forum, and here I am now!

about 6 years ago in the summer after 8th grade, my little bro and I stumbled across case closed on adult swim, billionaire birthday blues part one was on, and I was hooked since. Since it was part of the "old-school" anime block, I thought it was an ancient dead show. to my surprise there were on episode 360 something in japan. (then) I started watching fansubs of pre-100 episodes, man were they something. nothing will ever give me the same joy as a first-time viewing of a pre-100 episode.

I've been trying to convince this guy at work to watch DC but every time he decides to do so he rents a Case Closed dvd and doesn't like it, I keep saying he has to try the subbed version but he doesn't want to read subtitles
