I see. I didn't know either of those things. (I've never been involved in a transfusion.) Isn't there also a difference between + and - blood, like there is both b+ and b-, same goes for the other types. And negative is more rare than positive. Negative can give to positive but not the opposite, otherwise it's as already stated. At least I remember it that way from my biology lessons.Chekhov MacGuffin wrote:The general transfusion practice is to try to match the blood type of the donor and the receiver before resorting to using a different compatible type. That's right. It's called the rhesus factor. Asians especially, but also Africans, and Native Americans are almost universally rhesus positive. Rhesus negative people are more common in Europe.nomemory wrote: Isn't there also a difference between + and - blood, like there is both b+ and b-, same goes for the other types. Why is that / where did you hear it? I mean, not saying you're wrong, but I just don't see why that would be the case.Chekhov MacGuffin wrote: Also when transfusing blood plasma, the compatibilities are reversed. AB is the universal blood plasma donor while O is the universal plasma receiver.
edit: Well after snooping around it seems that's correct, but I'm still unsure as to why that would be the case. Pretty weird imo.

Re: Kaitou-Shinichi long lost twins???
I really doubt that Shinichi and Kaito could be twins, and maybe Yuusaku and Toichi look like the same person, they aren't, I really doubt that Yuusaku could change his moustache everytime he needs. And it couldn't be twins either 'cuz, as we know last name of Yuusaku is Kudo and last name of Toichi is Kuroba, and there's also the proff that, when Yuukiko went to L.A to learn disguise techniques, and after get married with Yuusaku, she would know about "his hunsband's brother".
Well, that's my opinion...
And also I think is IMPOSSIBLE that Yuusake fake his dead (if he were Toichi) and then he just forgot about them. Yuusaku is not that kind of person.
^^ See ya~

Re: Kaitou-Shinichi long lost twins???
There is no evidence in anime or manga to support a blood relationship of any kind between Shinichi and Kaito or Toichi and Yuusaku. It's just wishful thinking based on the fact that they strongly resemble each other. (And I resemble my best friend from Primary School so much that our teachers used to call us by each others' names, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm about as closely related to her as I am to the Queen.)

You're not talking about blood are you? Blood and plasma are different things. Even though I'm not sure wheter donating differs between plasma and blood for sure.ccppfan wrote:Yeah. XDbluekaitou1412 wrote: Why? Because you have type O?

Edit: Talking about bloodgroups, according to a test made in school biology I'm B negative but I'm not to sure abut that since it's so rare. I do know for sure that I can't be AB since my mom's 0.

Nope, I'm definitely right. It's because antibodies against these blood antigens are found in blood plasma. AB+ which has all the antigens and thus no antibodies to them, has safe-for-pretty-much-everyone* plamsa. O- types which could potentially have anti-A, anti-B, and anti-rhesus factor antibodies, could only be given to another O- person because the antibodies could attack the recipient's blood.ccppfan wrote: Nope, it's the other way round. *"pretty much everyone" does not include rare bloodtypes which are not ABO±
You should find out for sure since B- is rare anywhere. You never know when you will get into an accident and need blood on an emergency basis after all (or give it to someone else for that matter). If your parents don't know, you can check your birth certificate, or if it isn't there, donate blood somewhere and they will tell you. Finding out your bloodtype no matter how common or rare is good advice for anyone reading this comment.nomemory wrote: Edit: Talking about bloodgroups, according to a test made in school biology I'm B negative but I'm not to sure abut that since it's so rare. It isn't there and I can't donate since it's so hard for the nurses to find my veins, but I really want to donate. I usually go there once a year to see if things have changed, speaking of that it's time to go soon.Chekhov MacGuffin wrote:You should find out for sure since B- is rare anywhere. Removing the strikes was a good thing. *cough* Anyway. That's what I think too. What the hell kind of nurse can't find someone's veins? O__o;;Kor wrote: Maybe then you should go to a real clinic
