i personnally think that ai and subaru will end up togetha as they might hav many things in common so if ai ever turns back to her normal body size, she'll suit subaru alot (n both r somehow brown/blonde =P). And since many of us grew with the idea of shin/ran...it will end like that n besides that was clear ever since the first episode aired...
i'll kinda feel sorry for mitsuhiko who has a crush on ai...
i also want to c if kid's emotional life will ever appear agian in DC...hmmm... caz it'll b gud if they conclude that at the end of the show-------wich i dnt want tht n e time soon!

Shinichi will end up with Ran at the current flag, except if one of them died after a certain event. But I still chose AixConan because they're cute I don't really care if they are not canon. The cuteness is the one that counts.

It's always been clear that in the end, he either ends up with Ran or with noone. She's the one that's waiting for him, come what may and she's always ready to trust in him and believe him. Both of them have risked their lives so often for each other...
If Conan is on a mission to save his "crew" (XD) from a burning/exploding building, it's always Ran he's most worried about. Often it's "Ran-neechan and the others" xD

Plus, by now it should be obvious that both Shinichi and Ran know about each other's feelings. It's just that Shinichi is not really in the perfect position to confess his love, right? And everytime they get a "chance", something distracting occurs. They're both much too shy, actually.
To me, it's obvious that Ran is the main reason for Shinichi to keep going in the first place. Protecting her and confessing to her are his main concerns throughout the series...

Sorry for this long post, but being a Haibara fan, I can't agree with some of the things that's been said.

Morbid? LOL, if Haibara is morbid then Ran is brainless. I mean, com'on, don't exaggerate.
And, complicated? I'd say try to get in Haibara's shoes and then you'll understand why she's rather complicated. She has no parents, she was forced to work for an evil organization and make a drug that makes people suffer and kill them, her sister was killed because of her, she's alone and has nobody in the world, etc. How do you expect anyone to react in such a chaotic situation?! In her condition, it's more than normal to be complicated and feel down/depressed all the time (attemps of suicide, etc.). On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if Conan wants to end up with a naive, simple-minded character like Ran, he wouldn't have to think too much in his relashionship and would rather focus on the cases, yay!

Haibara trusts him too. And Conan risked his life more than once for Haibara, and so did she.

Yes, mostly in the movies where everything is exaggerated.. There are many episodes (unfortunately still unsubbed) where he's more worried for Haibara than for himself. I'm sure we'll get to watch them soon. ^^

Maybe the main reason, but not the only reason. Even if Conan wasn't shrunk and knew about the organization, he'd do anything to track them down. We all know that Shinichi's main goal is solving crimes, he's a mystery geek. Even when it comes to confessing to Ran, if a crime occurs, he'd go solve the crime first then come back to Ran. Mystery and crimes come first to him, I think we all agree about that. Well, it's obvious that he and Ran will end up together. We know that. Anyway, as someone in here said, Haibara's way too good for Conan. He's just so slow when it comes to understanding others feelings. The only reason why I want to see AiXConan is because they're both my favourite characters, and because they look so cute together. But I know that Haibara deserves someone better, someone who loves her more than anyone else.. not Conan.

Heh, I said that "when Shin confronted with the Death, he just thought about Ran" [ as you can see in Vol 36 - 37 ] ;;) When he knew that he could die, he whispered "Ran, I wanna say goodbye" ;;)

That's not the only time he confronted with death. Another exemple: in the bus jack case [Volume 29], there was a bomb in the bus and Ai stayed there because she wanted to die (sacrificing herself for Conan and the others, her being the only link to BO). But Conan returned to the bus and saved her even though he had 99% of chances to die.

It's okay, I don't have a grudge against Haibara =D And I didn't mean to offend you (or her), if that's how you perceived it.
That's just my opinion of the whole situation and it's not that that I don't like the character of Haibara. She's definitely not my favourite one, but I don't believe I have to find a character likeable to enjoy its presence within the series.
It only seems obvious to me that Ran is Shinichi's most beloved person and will remain being that.

But yes, I agree that solving cases is superiour to him on several occasions, you're right. Plus, I never said he didn't risk his life for anyone except Ran. We all know he's the oh-so-heroic type that is always prepared to get into serious trouble to help someone, right? =D I've simply got the feeling that his rescues for Ran outnumber those he did for other individuals, but since I haven't counted, that might be wrong. (Would still surprise me though. xD)

And sorry - if you're so angry about what I wrote about Haibara (even though it was never meant to be an insult...): you didn't write very flattering things about Ran either. I like her better than Ai, with you it's the other way round. So what?
I don't think that Ran is THAT naive and "simple-minded", either...=D
But probably morbid is a bit too strong an expression, you're right. I'll stick to "complicated" though. But I never claimed she didn't have good reasons for that.

I hope it's obvious this is not supposed to be an argument but rather a discussion. Since we both have our views, we won't agree in any case.

AND OH for the record, every girl (and guy) in this anime has as much character depth as a puddle in the middle of the desert.  Any type of "depth" is purely made by speculation.  So having a difference in opinion about a character is perfectly normal ^__^.

I disagree. They might not have full bios listing their blood types and astrological signs, but the recurring characters have been fleshed out over the years. Maybe not quite consistently characterized the whole way through (especially from the early chapters which were more over-the-top comical), but still developed, if very slowly.

I think the traits labeled as "naïve" or "morbid" are definitely there in the story, not just projected on to undeveloped characters.

Hehe Nyarl xD.  I wanted to edit that post but you quoted it already.  Before posting here I was writing a response to my friend's "Twilight" review so I was a bit ticked when I wrote that. 

Adding to it:

I guess I wouldn't say they're "shallower then a puddle in the middle of the desert"...at least in comparison to other animes.  I agree that the characters are fleshed out...I mean with so many episodes we just have to get a sense of what the character is about.  I actually like how the characters change overtime, it's like the characters grow up as the story progresses.  I do miss the humor element though...I love it when the characters are over the top hillarious xD.  In my opinion full bios doesn't do much for character depth, it just makes them easier to classify .   

I guess what I was tyring to say is that what people "get" and what is actually "shown" in the anime has a really big difference. Especially when you're shipping a couple.  When people like characters, they have a tendency to see things that aren't really there...
