No, I think it's holding up to my expectations.  There are times when it feels repetitive, but that's only because the "4 friends from random club/team/whatever other type of group are together and one gets murdered" situation, to me, seems to be used quite often.  However, the occasional Kaitou Kid, Heiji, or BO chapters usually more than make up for it.

Since about episode 200 Conan has been getting lame. Still a very fun show to watch, but one that has far too many boring and cliched mysteries and a main story that is not told especially well.

"The energies of our system will decay; the glory of the sun will be dimmed, and the earth, tideless and inert, will no longer tolerate the race which has for a moment disturbed its solitude. Man will go down into the pit, and all his thoughts will perish. The uneasy consciousness, which in this obscure corner has for a brief space broken the contented silence of the universe, will be at rest. Matter will know itself no longer. 'Imperishable monuments' and 'immortal deeds,' death itself, and love stronger than death, will be as though they had never been."

I have to agree with dilbertschalter, after the 230 mark, the episodes seemed to lose their magic. I don't think it's a matter of them becoming lame but something the earlier episodes had are gone. Maybe the it's the new clean look of the series  :-\ (film grain is magical....to me at least) or more likely, the cases have been getting weaker. Though I would be the first to say I'll sink with this ship, Conan could go to episode 1500( hopefully DCTP will still be around :) ) and I would still be watching from my retirement home. ;D

I'm disappointed with the continuity recently. It was always sparsely developed, but now what is developed feels unnecessarily strung out rather than just sporadic, with the next big reveal (about Okiya) only surprising if it turns Conan into an idiot. As for the "usual" story, I don't think the writing has really declined significantly until very recently, where there are fewer fun stories and a couple that were just bad.

Movies:  Hell yes.
Anime:  I don't like the clean look either.  But no I think it's getting better.
Manga:  No, but it's not getting better.

Yeah the first half or so of DC is just magic ^_^.
Hey, I have an idea, let's have a THIS SUCKS / NO THIS SUCKS / NO YOU / NO YOU argument for a couple pages, that will really be great. - Ingmar

Due to the high-octane BO arcs that took our breaths away, I'd rather say that all other shit look lame even if they're not supposed to be :P

The only thing DC that keeps on getting better is...

I miss the very sophisticated closed room murder cases  :(

I think that for a 12 year old show with 12 movies and 8 Ovas has help up pretty well.  ;D

i think that tha cases are just plane boring now, i think i will never get the same feeling like theone of the clsed room murderer (the episode when heiji makes conan drink alcohol and he transforms into shinishi)

But the main plot, about BO and specialy the episodes with the FBI are just awesome.

I feel like skipping all the "normal cases" and focusing on the main plot.

There are 2 yes's and 2 no's, so I didn't vote...

I can't really say that it is becoming lamer, but it's not getting any interesting, but for a understandable reason. the early part of the series was all about murders and blood, but more recently, there are more non-murder cases, involving things like crashing cars,  mysterious scars and the such, and since there are less bloodified murders, it's not as graphic.
