Re: The Great DC Opening Contest (Revive vs. Feel Your Heart
Feel your heart.
Revive is pretty good, the problem is the bad execution of the climax. Tension is gradually build up, and finds a first climax in ai shiteru ni. This tension is, however, left hanging for too long, the refrain isn't distinguishing from the stanzas enough. However, it gets much worse with the final anata no koe de just next stage resume and revive. This is clearly the main climax of the song, and melody, lyrics and even animation point to this. However, the dynamic doesn't change at all, we stay mezzopiano at a place where we should have an (earlier started) crescendo to forte.
Just to illustrate it, we have it done right with Everlasting Luv.
The building of tension starts at kioko no pazuru wo and continues to grow until janai keredo, where we have a short break until it's released with a - forte - Everlasting Luv!. Here, however, in addition to melody, lyrics and animation the dynamic makes a great crescendo, different from the "unstressed" line in Revive. This pattern actually continues throughout the rest of the rest of the song, tension is build up and finally released with an Everlasting Luv. Of course, said later tensions aren't as strong as the one that was build up so well at the beginning in 40 seconds (15 of them intense), but they are still small "maxima" of their own.
And due to this - IMO - major mistake I simply view Revive as wasted potential and so I'll go with FYH.

That's the same reason I choose "Revive"pofa wrote:kkslider5552000 wrote:Well, yeah, but that's not exactly what I meant. All the OPs have pretty much the same feel/sound/formula to them, like you can listen to them and think, "Oh, that's from DC." "Feel Your Heart" sounds like it belongs to Eva.pofa wrote: Feel Your Heart was a really strange OP to me, like it belonged to a different anime.
I also recognize it more than "Feel Your Heart"

And besides, there are a lot of new char I like it

But "Feel Your heart" is also good
