(again, the minor abbrevation in the title is for space)
Last time, "The Phantom of Baker Street" absolutely destroyed, "Jolly Roger in the Deep Azure". This week, in the penultimate contest of Round 1, we have:
"The energies of our system will decay; the glory of the sun will be dimmed, and the earth, tideless and inert, will no longer tolerate the race which has for a moment disturbed its solitude. Man will go down into the pit, and all his thoughts will perish. The uneasy consciousness, which in this obscure corner has for a brief space broken the contented silence of the universe, will be at rest. Matter will know itself no longer. 'Imperishable monuments' and 'immortal deeds,' death itself, and love stronger than death, will be as though they had never been."
I am going with "The Private Eyes' Requiem". I hated both movies with a passion, but something about 7 was insanely odious. It had a nice setting, focused on a likable character and a mystery that was in theory interesting. And yet, the mystery itself proved a sideshow to a lot of disjointed chases and scenic views. The Shinichi/Heiji swap was also terribly predictable and lame, and the ShinRan moment was thrown in without a thought to flow. Also, the whole "a bunch of people die at the very beginning with no buildup" shtick was really annoying, not like a good detective story at all. 10 was terrible, but it was happy about it. 7 was terrible, but yearning to be good.

i liked movie 7 alot because it's got my fav pairing and alot of action compared to move 10. movie 10 was nothing but a mystery that had na overflow of characters
Superman = Captain America > Aquaman = Hal Jordan > Wonder Woman > Barry Allen > Thor > Martian Manhunter > The Hulk > Wasp > Hawkeye > [power gap] > Iron Man = Batman > [power gap] > Hank Pym
I'm for Private Eyes' Requiem. It was a good mystery (which is what DC should be all about), with suspense and thrills. For some reason, I seem to like all the ones other ones don't.
I actually liked movie 10. If it were not for that horrible villain (Come on, planting bombs on a bunch of kids just to motivate a few detectives to investigate a case for you? They would have done it if you hired them normally, too. Oh sure, it is for the sake of "suspense". :-\) and basically parking half of the cast in that amusement park (At least they got their own mini-mystery). Otherwise the movie was good.
Movie 7 was just... bad. Way to much Heiji, a silly and unnecessary back-transformation and the mystery itself was weak as well. Even Jolly Roger was better than that movie - aside from the ridiculous escape it was at least fun.
7 for me. movie 10 had too much of a mystery, it felt like a DC special like ep. 304, to me it did not have a movie feel. In short I like the movies with more about the personal lives of the characters.
Every time I want to give up on DC, it manages to bring me back, it brings me back feelings I know that I will never ever feel or live again.
