Oh I just recalled, the ending to the Spider mansion case was quite sad. To think "shine" can be misinterpreted so badly . Heiji blurting it out like that was just . I was actually sniffing when I read the end to that case xD.

none of them have made me sad even if they were sad murder cases. Mostly because none of the characters that have appeared more than once or twice have died in a murder case (I think).
You beat me to it, I was going to mention it too, we usually hear or see flashbacks of people that commited suicide, but we normally don't see a character that has been introduced during an episode to commit suicide.

Oh, I'm not sure if we can consider this one.. but what happened between Kir and her father... that was so sad... (spoiler?) (that whole flashback scene where Hidemi explains how she had been forced by her father to 'murder' him to confirm her loyalty to the org. and again, she had to do the same, this time by murdering Akai... I really do think she's made to face an awful lot, don't you think?)

I don't think while playing... so I had never geuss about this... I just feel the music^^

Cases where there are ShinRan moments are kinda sad too, especially the last act of the Desperate Revival arc, the 2nd Valentine murder case, and the chapter that came after that.
I have to agree with the murder of the twin sister, though. That was really, really sad.
