Phantom Lady is Kaito's mom. And there was some mention of Yukiko in tha last page. Apart from that couldn't understand a thing. I don't know japanese.

Wow, that's cool. I guess it wasn't too unpredictable that Phantom Lady was Kaitou's mom, but it is still confirming it.

I read the translation. Kinda disappointed though.

I thought Conan will spill out Yukiko's name so that Kid can recollect from his memories of his first meeting with Shinichi's mom. Atleast Conan gave him a hint about his mom who was born in Tosa. And in reply Kid gave a hint about his mom being Phantom Thief. Looks like we will see more of Phantom lady and Kid in future chapters.

I wasn't really serious about Chigake being anokata, but it would be cool if she knew about Pandora as well. Whatever happens, good on Gosho for giving us MK fans a little more to work with.

I guess Phantom Lady won't be making an appearance at the Ryoma exhibit in 733, as it wasn't mentioned in the spoiler. I kind of wish she would reappear alongside Kid, but maybe it would make Kaito uncomfortable.

A KID heist as a family affair... that would be hilarious XDXDXD I would love to see it. I just really think Kaito deserves some plot relevance instead of being a random annoyance. Surely if his mom turns up on a heist, Conan'll start picking up some clues as to who Kid is and what he's up to? Conan wouldn't let murderers get away, after all...

hmyeah, but tricking the bad guys (I mean the ones going after Panodra) into getting caught is Kaitou's role imo. That's HIS story, not Conan's. Besides, if Conan would go after Snake & co, then what's the use of Hakuba? Playing the randomly appearing, snobbish detective who knows Kaitou is Kaito Kid but has no proof 'til the end of the story? I actually wonder whether Gosho still knows what to do with Kaitou Kid, since it seems Conan is slowly taking over Hakuba's role of the rival. Which means he's unsure whether to continue the story of Magic Kaito on its own, or incorporate it into Detective Conan ...

I agree with you about the idea of Kaitou Kid needing some substory in Detective Conan 'though.

Anyway, this arc was kind of disappointing imho. I seriously hope a decent BO story will follow this one.

Well, yeah XDXDXD I know what you mean, though. He and Akako, though, have been almost entirely written out of DC; Akako only appeared in the Clock Tower, which was really more of a DC cameo in MK than vice-versa, and in the two DC cases where Hakuba has appeared so far, he has just been a snobbish prick who got his ass handed to him. I mean, if he's so obsessed with Kid, why hasn't he been at the dozen or so heists that Shinichi has?

After this chapter, I think it's safe to conclude that the Phantom Lady is Kaito's mother.  
I didn't know she could do magic tricks...
Yeah, the plot is getting deeper. Gosho may even think of ending MAGIC KAITO with DC.

I think Gosho does this "slight crossover" case here, so later when he finishes DC he can still bring back DC characters in to tez Kaito story. Then he will realize taht evryone will like DC characters in MK better than MK itself, so he stpos and writes a new DC:

I think the revelation about the Phantom Lady is pretty cool my only fear is that it will give Gosho more material for filler cases, instead of continuing with the plot T_____T i like Kaitou Kid but DUDE, get on with the plot already!!!

(though it would be mindnumbingly cool if it turns out that all the filler cases so far are actually somehow related to the plot.  *wishes and hopes*)

I like a filler case here and there, but I kind of prefer a higher plot-to-filler ratio than what's going on just now (that was what annoyed me about InuYasha to the end: WE GET IT! THE SWORD IS PIMPED! NOW USE IT TO KILL NARAKU ALREADY!), and I think it devalues Kaito as a character. He has plot! Let him have his plot! DX

I agree entirely about InuYasha.  That's why I stopped watching it very early in the series.... I mean, really, how many times do you have to kill him before he's dead?

Reminds me of a quote from an InuYasha fanfic about some curse Naraku left after death. "Dammit! We can't get rid of Naraku! Even killing him doesn't work!"

It didn't last as long as DC has, though. I'll give DC that it has a bigger cast and more complex plot, but I'd still prefer a higher plot-to-filler ratio.

Yeah, I thought of one way for most of the filler cases to be involved, but I doubt it would happen.
