FILE 731-733: Who's The Hell Kid Disguises This Time?

Surely you're joking! I thought this would be a four or five part case for sure because the two forgers haven't made a move yet, nor have we gotten much by the way of clues indicating how Kid snuck the metal parts of the S&W 1.5 in, unless he planted them there ahead of time and Inspector Nakamori fails at searching for metal objects. I assumed the outro line at the end of the chapter: "Next time, Kid's cleaning show begins..." meant that Kaito Kid's heist/return/whatever-it-is will start, but it wasn't the end of the case. Well, I can't say I wouldn't want to get this case over with so we can hopefully have another chance at locating the plot, but this seems awfully abrupt.

I don't know if it means we are gonna see a cross over but atleast now I want Gosho to proceed with the plot than with those filler cases. It's also nice to see we might see more Kid and Conan cases since Kid has been featured as much as Detective boys in the recent volumes.

I wasn't really serious about Chigake being anokata, but it would be cool if she knew about Pandora as well. Whatever happens, good on Gosho for giving us MK fans a little more to work with.

I guess Phantom Lady won't be making an appearance at the Ryoma exhibit in 733, as it wasn't mentioned in the spoiler. I kind of wish she would reappear alongside Kid, but maybe it would make Kaito uncomfortable.

Saw the raw too. Well, this case was kind of lousy in my opinion. Without the trans, it's hard to tell what exactly happened, but for some parts of it as best as I can tell, there didn't seem to be enough clues in the initial two chapters to rule out certain potential solutions. The rest of it was simple for English readers at least. Maybe it's harder in Japanese...

The thing about this case that made me the most irritated:

Nakamori, Jirokichi, and the two forgers walked right through the exit of the security line to skip the scanners. WTH, Nakamori, you know Kid can quickly swap out and disguise as someone. How about you just cut to the front of the security scanner line instead just to be safe.

Kid cases seemed to be cursed with bad....

I guess the backstory for Kid and phantom lady is nice, since Kaito Kid's development in DC is pretty lacking,...

...but since I have disliked pretty much every case that Kid has been in recently, the less I see of him, the better. (Not that it is any fault of the thief's that he is consistently in cruddy cases. It's pure guilt by association for me.)
