Random Poll of the Day! (703)
I only got around to realize the true "wonders" of the internet in my second to last year of high school. It also kinda started when I began to search anime online and I was like "OMG you can find everything on the internet".
So that was in 2008.
So that was in 2008.

I'm guessing around '01, since that's when I really started to have projects that required research.

I might wake up early and go running. I also might wake up and win the lottery. The odds are about the same.

Re: Random Poll of the Day! (703)
2000. I was talking to a friend at the bus stop about how I was stuck in a game, and he said "you should check out this site, it's called gamefaqs". I thought he was bein stupid because FAQs weren't gonna help me out here, but then I went to the site and saw the walkthroughs and was like "whoa".
Then I found out that the site had message boards, joined, and that's how my addiction to the internet started :V

similar progression here with a friend recommending gamefaqs, though it wasn't gamefaqs itself for me- as i was never a fan of their forums, but it was there that found a great forum (a fire emblem discussion forum) that was where i really got into the internet. downloading stuff on limewire was a revelation as well when i first did it, as ridiculous as downloading a song in 30 minutes feels today.Akonyl wrote: 2000. "The energies of our system will decay; the glory of the sun will be dimmed, and the earth, tideless and inert, will no longer tolerate the race which has for a moment disturbed its solitude. Man will go down into the pit, and all his thoughts will perish. The uneasy consciousness, which in this obscure corner has for a brief space broken the contented silence of the universe, will be at rest. Matter will know itself no longer. 'Imperishable monuments' and 'immortal deeds,' death itself, and love stronger than death, will be as though they had never been."

Re: Random Poll of the Day! (703)
Sometime around 2010/11 I guess...
Wasn't really that interested before that, though I'd used it for homework and stuff. Would've said 2009, but even though I started spending more time on it then I only really stuck to certain websites so that doesn't count :x.
I'm the latest to uncover The Potential then? D:

ahh, limewire. I remember how sometimes you'd accidentally download a clip of some Bill Clinton impersonation.dilbertschalter wrote:similar progression here with a friend recommending gamefaqs, though it wasn't gamefaqs itself for me- as i was never a fan of their forums, but it was there that found a great forum (a fire emblem discussion forum) that was where i really got into the internet. downloading stuff on limewire was a revelation as well when i first did it, as ridiculous as downloading a song in 30 minutes feels today.Akonyl wrote: 2000. I don't really know when I learned of the potential of the internet - it was a gradual progression that still goes on to this day; every year I learn something groundbreaking that changes how I use the web.
