Couple of notes:

1) When I say "this year", take it as 2011 until now.

2) Basically what I refer to is something that was so awesome and totally blew your mind by how good it was.

I cannot express how amazing Journey is, so videogames

Going with books, though there are too many that I loved to really pick one.

Second is probably videogames, since HP Lego part 2 came out.   (Hey, I think it's awesome.)

It's kind of funny, because GinRei's got his avatar of this lady who's seemingly disappointed at Kor (Don't know my anime enough to figure out who that is).

I was blown away by The Help. I know it was a book originally but I've only seen the movie so far.

None, very underwhelming year.

Quite a few. Seen some amazing films in the last 12 months, read some brilliant books, the last part of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood was aired, and as for TV? SHERLOCK. That is all.

flim Adventure of Tintin was quite amazing!

Great year for entertainment. On TV, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, and White Collar all had brilliant turns--Suits also premiered this year as well, so we can't forget that. There was only one book released in the last year that I would consider a masterpiece (a nonfiction work that I won't name here in order to not start a firestorm). In film, we had Drive, which was definitely excellent, as well as the lovely documentary Being Elmo. Oh, and Noel Gallagher's solo debut is truly spectacular as well.

I put video games because outside of some anime and music I tend to not give a crap about anything else. Skyrim is a masterpiece if you can get past the inevitable frustrations.

2011 did have a gigantic improvement in music that I fully enjoy though and some masterpiece-like songs (Adele being the most obvious example)
