it's okay to ask.. forum and internet can gave many info to a young maiden like you!.
although not all info is good for you!
well.. as far as i know.. the ressolution is depend on your graphic card ability!. cheaper ones will only support limited resolution while the newer and more powerful ( and mostly will also more expensive
) can support higher resolution.
mine is 1920x1080

Re: Software to increase screen resolution
you can only have as high a resolution as your graphics card and monitor will allow. So if your laptop can't go above 1024x600, that's the highest you're gonna hit.
However, if the max resolution is limited by your computer and not your video card, there's probably programs to give you a virtual desktop or some such, though I dunno any easy ones. You could always get VMware, but that requires you to install a second OS on that and it's probably too complicated for your tastes to just install RMXP.
Alternately, you could just use RPGMaker2000 or 2003, I don't think they have that high of a min resolution. They're not as powerful, but they should probably be good enough for most of what you wanna do, I'd imagine.
edit: also, what kind of laptop do you have, is it a netbook?

Just a question...
kate_49, do you have an Eee PC (Asus)?
And yes, it is possible to have a resolution higher than your monitor would normally allow. In this case, you only see a part of the screen and can move by scrolling.

It is necessary sometimes. For example, Aegisub does theoretically work nonetheless, but there is no room for subtitles then...xpon wrote:that sound like a pain in the A**Callid wrote: And yes, it is possible to have a resolution higher than your monitor would normally allow. Re: Software to increase screen resolution
Well, the program that enable me to change my screen resolution at my Laptop to beyond monitor size is "Eee PC Tray Utility 5.1.1.3018". However, I don't know how to get this, it was pre-installed on my Laptop.

Re: Software to increase screen resolution
after searching, I see nothing for "Acer Aspire 21", however for "Acer Aspire One", I found this link:
http://forums.techarena.in/monitor-video-cards/1216868.htm
where people are talking about this problem, and someone includes a link to the a1ctl utility they're talking about.
