26 People Held Hostage in The Philippines

There's been a big case in The Philippines. A former policeman, who was fired, went onto a tourist bus today at 10:00 am. He followed the tourists on the bus after they had returned from a scenic spot (a garden, I heard). When the tour guide asked him what he was doing, he said he wanted to hitch hike. The tour guide declined, saying that is a tour, so he couldn't hitch hike. So the man took out his gun and told them who he was, then locked the doors and put the driver in handcuffs. He held the whole bus hostage, saying that if the police force didn't give him his job back, he'd kill the whole tour. After some time, he let 8 Hong Kong citizens; 3 children, a mother, a photographer, the tour guide and 2 elderly persons, and a Filipino, away. The rest; 15 Hong Kong citizens and a Filipino, were held hostage up to now, and the news says that the other people on the bus were killed.
All of them.
Killed.
Holy crap.
What are your thoughts, guys? :'(

He had the presence of mind to bring handcuffs and a second clip of ammo.
Did he commit suicide after?
Interesting to note that the killed were mostly Hong Kong citizens. I suppose tourism from that area will decline sharply after this incident.
Although most know that the Philippines is not a prime destination if you don't have a trusted local guide anyway.

No, at least we don't know yet. The police are still trying to open the doors.... with a hyping rope.
And yeah, it was a tour from Hong Kong, after all. I don't know how popular The Philippines is as a tourist spot, but yeah, we certainly won't go there any time soon.

God, what the hell are they doing? First they open the door with a rope, but back out soon after.
Then, when the man fired, they threw a smoke bomb. *facepalms*
And now, they're using wood planks to make a ledge from the ground to the back window of the bus.... wha? POLICEMEN, I THOUGHT YOU WERE TRAINED TO DO THIS KIND OF THING.

clearly, taking 26 people hostage is the sign of a good policeman, I know I'd give him his job back.
