Test poll

So I just wanted to see whether a poll could still be voted in, when the topic itself is locked.

So the results are in! I guess you can vote in locked topics. It just gets pushed to the bottom of forever!
Anyway I thought this up while contemplating how "Strictly a poll!" turned out to ... not be strictly a poll

I like the "no" vote. Phoenix admitted to me that it was her. Hehehe...

Of course it was me! I saw the 15 'yes' votes, thought about it, and went for 'no', because that's just the kind of person I am.

A poll and a thread work independently. It's pretty easy to figure when you notice there's the "Lock Topic" option and the "Lock Poll" option separetely

There's a "Lock Poll" option?

Next to the mentioned Poll. It remains as long as the ability to vote does...

I only re-enabled this for this forum the day before yesterday, to note. There's a small glitch that allows for people to post in locked topics as well, but thanks to a permissions runaround, that's in the past now (hopefully).
As for the other topic being strictly a poll, that doesn't mean it's just for voting (in forum terms); no reason to discourage healthy discussion of the poll itself. I've edited/deleted posts that stepped over the line. If anyone has any legitimate issues with it, feel free to PM.

It is Lock Voting, not Lock Poll

Is it a quick-moderation thing? Because otherwise I still don't see it
For this one, I just changed the "how many days" option to '0'.

I see it always in the Member of the Week. Maybe it varies with the configuration of the poll?

I don't think it's too big of a deal; if anyone needs a topic's voting disabled, let me know.
The major issue with doing it in the other topic is the fact that if no one posts in it, it goes to the bottom as was mentioned, but if we sticky it, it places more importance on it than was originally intended. Thus, like all topics, it can survive purely on its own volition. I dunno why anybody would be against there being posts in the topic itself--unless people are too insecure to hear dissenting opinions voiced, in which case that's certainly not a topic they should be visiting in the first place. In fact, it should be the case with all polls... Virtually all of the couples topics get far more heated than it has, so I wonder what that says about the fans in attendance.
Again though: If anyone has any objections whatsoever, my PM box is always open (and occasionally overflowing!). As far as I'm concerned, there's no offensive content in the topic, so if anyone really has any issues, you have two options: PM me or resist clicking it. The second option is more difficult simply because getting into Jd-'s prized PM inbox is just
so...
enticing.
Or, in other words:
