I keep getting a pop up saying that Security Tool found 44 viruses.
But I've never heard about this program or remember downloading it.

So I looked it up and it said that its a spyware program.
So I'm trying to avoid logging into any websites and getting my password/email stolen...

I'm already logged onto here, so anyone have any ideas of what to do?
One website told me to run SuperAntiSpyware, and I'm doing that right now.

But it hasn't detected any trojans/spyware/etc.

the fake antivirus viruses are always the worst.

Anyway, when I got one of those, I used malwarebytes + avira and those managed to find and kill it. Unfortunately, there was some other wonky thing with firefox and popups so I just decided to nuke my computer basically.

If nothing can find it (though I'd think malwarebytes/avira/something else should be able to find it), then you might just need to back up your files on a disk and then use the nuclear option on your computer.

Also, for the future, I would suggest getting firefox and installing the noscript addon, and only allow scripts to run from trusted sites. It's never failed me before (when I got the virus I was stupidly using IE

also, scineram's suggestion of nod32's decent also, though I haven't used it in a while.

I tried to open my task manager and it blocked it.

It's blocking random stuff...

Following Akonyl's advice, I recommend WOT (Web Of Trust) if you're using Firefox. It basically shows you how trustful websites are, and will alert you when you're entering a very untrustful page. It's not a virus killer or anything like that, but it has helped me a lot to avoid threats

avira antivirus

you can pay for both of them, but they both have free options that should be able to do the job.

I've never heard of superAntiSpyware, but Avast is a trusty program. I dunno how good it is, but it won't kill your computer.

And yeah, if you don't have the CD you won't really be able to nuke your system.

As for it blocking random stuff like task manager (stopping you from killing it), google "rkill", it's a process that you can run that basically kills any processes that it doesn't like the look of (which will include the virus).

you can download the exe, scr, pif or com file, they're all the same. However, I'd recommend against the exe, as viruses tend to stop you from being able to open exes.

The virus gave my computer the blue screen of death...

It completely shut off my computer, so I restarted it in safe mode.
I started up SuperAntiSpyware again, but I'm avoiding downloading anything right now. I might get the blue screen again.

This really pisses me off, cause my dad's laptop is so hard to use...

I was downloading DC Movie 12...
When I was downloading Part 1, the Security Tool virus popped up.
When I was downloading Part 2, the blue screen of death appeared.

I question why you were still downloading the movie even though the computer was all infected.

Also, if you downloaded it from megaupload, there have been reports of popup advertisements on megaupload containing malware., so in the future I would also recommend using jdownloader to download from megaupload, if you're not using noscript.

Anyway, I would try downloading rkill anyway. When my computer was infected, at one point I got a blue screen before my system was even fully booted up, but I managed to get rid of most of it.

Get Combo-Fix. When I had my blue screen of death, combo-fix was the only thing that worked for me. Now my computer has no problem at all.

Start in safe mode, get Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware(portable)

Run the portable one off a flashdrive first, then install and run malwarebytes. After both are done, delete what they find, restart back into safemode again, rerun both, then rinse and repeat till its dead for good.

I'm downloading it because I'm trying to get a screenshot for my new signature.

Also, that might be what happened. I don't even know. I just clicked the download link, and suddenly Security Tool popped up.

So which should I download? All three?
MalwareBytes, Avira and RKill?

Also, what is JDownloader and Noscript?

Firefox + noscript. Everyone reading this thread, get it if you haven't already. It saves you pain.
