Random Poll of the Day! (23)

One of the worst thing in living in the country I live in, is this annoying law.
As some of the people here know, I chose option 3 in my case and I made the army realize that it's not eh.....safe for me to be in this system (and a side-fact that I have an odd obsession about my hair).
So, what would you do? (bear in mind that in this situation, your country is surrounded by enemies who want to wipe your country of the map ;D)

I voted "No" but after that I read the situation. But I couldn't join the army in my condition anyway XD

No... war is hell.
(Funfact time: when I was 5 though, I wanted to join the army just to kill that Sudan Houssein guy, though.)

second option, as there's something similar over here in the US, although it's not so much being required to join the military as it is it is being required to register with selective service so that if there ever *is* a draft, they can grab you. But I guess it really depends on how much fightin's going on, so iunno.
This is one of those questions that you think you'll answer one way, but you can't ever really be certain about the answer until it actually happens to you.

I picked the second option, but Akonyl's right about not knowing for sure until it happens to you.

I'm really curious as to what these conditions are.

In my case I have diabetes ;p And I'm not allowed to handle weapons or do other important tasks (like handling an important machine where a mistake leads to disaster or death lol) by law. So no police for me either D:

you can't handle important things if you're diabetic? Are they afraid you're just gonna keel over randomly or something?

Basically that's the point, yes XD
If I'm on low sugar, then I'll get an adrenalin kick + other stuff (other hormones). I'll get pale, my body is shaking, I'm sweating etc.
And another thing is that I'm more aggressive and that I can't think straight. It depends on the person. And I don't go totally nuts ;p But I know about a friend that has a diabetic father. That father is "going nuts" when he's on low sugar. If he's on low sugar he needs to eat something with sugar (duh). But in his case he refuses to take anything and is running away. So once his coworkers had to chase after him and feed him forcefully. But he didn't want to act like that and apologize of course.
Another problem is that I could get unconscious if my sugar level drops too low. So, if I happen to do something important and fell unconscious, it's not good :p
Like throwing grenades or shooting etc. I could kill someone accidentally ;p
I think I can't become a doctor/surgeon either.
"Ok, I opened him. Now I'll cut this part here..." *get's unconscious and falls into the patient*
Hmm... nope, I don't think I can XD

The army isn't just about going to the field and fight. There are many jobs in the office for people who can't be a soldier.
For example, my twin brother was placed in the army's radio station (that's right. The army in my country owns its own radio station/channel. And it's not a special radio channel with war stuff and army stuff in it. It's just like any OTHER radio channel with music and occasional news.)

so you're saying you hulk out when you get low on sugar, eh? I've known a few diabetics, but I was unaware of that, so huh. But I guess I dunno what type they were or what the differences between the two types or anything are, so yeah.
but either way, the more you know!

in this case that you don't mean we'd automatically be footsoldiers, then I'd be even more likely to say option #2.

Not sure. But I thought you still need to do the basic training? And if I would be in the army then, there are still duties I have to do. And even if I just handle a radio, if "I go nuts" I could still take a weapon and shoot someone just because I dun wanna eat my sugar atm ;p
They also don't take psychopaths into the army, right?
And there are a lot of people with diabetes. And I doubt they let 20 people handle a radio

Usually people stay calm. Some people don't even notice that they are low on sugar till they are almost unconscious already D: Depends on the person and his body. But there are cases when people "go nuts" (I don't btw. :p) But you never know right? So they made the law to protect the diabetic person and the people that could get hurt in case one would go nuts.
To protect diabetic people there is also a law were I can't spend blood too

Tho I wanted :/

aww, first you said you didn't go "totally nuts", now you say you don't go nuts at all. That's much more boring. D:
