New Anime to Watch

Since the IRC channel isn't a great place to do a poll, I figured i'll do this here.  I'm not much of a forum goer but am an important regular on the irc channels.  I'm having some trouble picking the next couple of animes/mangas for me to checkout/watch/read and i can't decide on my own so i figured i'd do a large poll here for the fun of it.  other suggestions are welcome, and i will add any that seem to appeal to me (if it lets me and as long as i haven't seen/read them already).  so please help me out, take away my free will and decide for me as a collective.

I've told it to let you guys vote 10 times and be able to change your votes, there's no time limit on there right now (it'll be a bit before i get to watching anything anyway.) so go nuts.  The two favorites in there for me i think are K-On! and Girls Bravo.

Here's a link to my profile on MyAnimeList so that you can see what i've seen (i don't think its complete though, been a while since i've looked after it). Link Here

Lucky Star
Happiness!
Shuffle!
Special A
Koihime Musou
Seto no Hanayome
Clannad EDIT: Removed because of
Spoiler:
Image
To Heart 2
Toradora!
Kanokon

Toaru Majutsu no Index
Girls Bravo - First Season
Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun From MrWiz88
Aria: The Animation (and sequels)
Karin
Ghost Hound
Real Drive
Nodame Cantabile
Sketchbook: Full Color`s
Shion no ou
Ookami Kakushi
Umineko

EDIT: wow how did i screw up the urls there... fixed now, added new series from mrwiz, also see below

Since i've run into an issue with adding options and need a forum moderator to fix it each time i'll be queuing up series i'm going to add here.
Series to Add to poll:
Empty for now

also can a mod please fix the poll again so that people can change their votes? it keeps removing it when i add options

what genres do you prefer? or are you an "anything goes" kinda dude?

in any case lemme go through your list as there are only 9 I haven't seen.

lucky star - i enjoyed this as a good comedy. if you've seen "Azumanga Daioh" you may enjoy this too... if not watch both. pretty much a comedy / slice of life in a school / home setting

shuffle! - another good comedy in a school / home setting. guy gets to pick between being a god or a demon depending on who's daughter he gets with (dont bother with shuffle! memories, its only a recap except for epi 23 which is like an OVA)

seto no hanayome - is also on my "to watch list" cant find it subbed  <--any help on this from the forum readers is GREATLY appreciated!)

clannad - jmaeshawn recommended this to me - currently watching so i dont have much of an opinion

toradora - an absolute must... im still complaining that there isnt enough manga out yet....

kanokon - ecchi comedy and very funny - about a fox and a wolf deity who try to seduce the same person in order to....damn i forgot but it was still funny. i havent seen the OVA's yet

school days - for the love of god save yourself and dont do it.... the ending is just.. wow.

girls bravo - both seasons were good. another ecchi / comedy - about a kid that is allergic to girls except for one... and shes from another world (queue twilight zone music)   if you haven't seen it, i also recommend "Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun" it shares a few similarities

i could do a better job if i knew what you've seen / wanna see.  i've seen over 100 series and still going... so i think i could do a good job :D

sounds like some good advice, i'm gonna add a link to my MyAnimeList Profile to let people see what i've seen, its not complete but should give a better idea for suggestions.

Throwing my hat in for Toradora and Fate/Stay Night.  Toradora is quite possibly one of the best romance/comedy series around.  So much so that I, who doesn't typically care for romance shows, LOVED it.

Fate/Stay Night has some flaws, but you probably won't notice them if you haven't played the game.  Most of the flaws come from just trying to fit stuff from all three routes into a single route for the anime.  Still, it's a rich and complete story.  Also, the movie for the Unlimited Blade Works route just hit theatres (best route), so in about 6 months that'll be worth looking forward to.

ok. after reading your list time for more suggestions....

shion no ou - mysteryish. shion's parents are killed in front of her as a child, causing her to lose her will to speak. before he leaves, the killer plays a game of shogi with the young shion. several years later the now mute and aspiring shogi player continues to play hoping to one day find her parents killer though the game.  i thought this was really good and it made me wanna watch other gameish animes like "hikaru no go" and "saki" (igo and mahjong respectively)

mahoraba - comedy about a guy who moves into a new place with a bunch of wacky neighbors and a landlady with a secret (oooooo).

higurashi no naku koro ni - mystery / horror - new guy moves into town and basically a bunch of weird happenings are going on. this one is broken up into arcs with a new story taking place every 4 - 6 eps or so. one arc is long at like 8 eps. even though the arcs are different they all piece together in the end bringing it all together nicely. to me this was an epic anime to watch. i watched both seasons and the 7 OVA's glued to my chair.

one side note... once you watch toradora, the VA who does the voice of Taiga (you'll find out)... i http://www.anime-planet.com/users/MrWiz88/lists/22846

noir and madlax - 2 out of 3 animes considered part of a "girls with guns" trio (the other being "El Cazador de la Bruja"). these two are basic female assassin characters fighting to get to the end of their own unique stories.

major - pretty much a drama revolving around baseball and a damn good one at that (im looking forward to season 6 this spring).

gungrave -  a mafia styleish action about two street smart thugs making it big with a local syndicate.

just to throw some last minute ones out there "shura no toki" is a really good martial arts anime, parkur had mentioned "school rumble", i enjoyed that and it wasn't bad for a romance / school life / comedy. "pandora hearts" - pretty much alice in wonderland in a twisted anime world... worth the watch.

not sure if you want the magic girl genre but right now i'm watching the "pretty cure" series. (not as childish or heavily girl oriented as i thought it would have been)

Sounds like the new Ookami Kakushi show.  If I'm not mistaken, it's by the same writer (Ryukishi07), and the basic setup is the same.  New guy (and family) move into a town, and everyone's acting weird.  Cue crazy shenanigans.

Same writer for Umineko too.  Umineko started out good, but the last few episodes were disappointing. :(
