Well, I live in Argentina and to be honest, nowadays aren´t very secure.
I was victim of a robbery 3 times, and twice with a friend.
My father´s employee witnessed someone being stabbed.

No, but I've seen a crime scene. And not in TV. It happened near my school last year.
No amount of apologies will express how much I regret it.

I didn't watch the actual robbery, but I watched police chase down and arrest someone that just robbed a jewelry store (person ran out of the store as soon as the police cars showed up). Person ran through the parking lot, across the highway, before being tackled by an officer that was on the other side of the highway.

Hey, i'm from Brazil, here it's even worse, i was victim of a robbery 3 times, 2 they robbed my bike and the last and most sad one, a thief pointed a gun to me and stole my car (it was 3 years ago).Holmes wrote: Well, I live in Argentina and to be honest, nowadays aren´t very secure.

About murders, i "had the honor" to discover a body in the highway, it was when me and a friend of mine were riding a bike about 6pm and all of a sudden a body appeared... We reported to the police and they told the person was still alive, but he died on the way to hospital.
About your country, i was in buenos aires 3 months ago and there was very secure, i didn't see anything wrong, i even walked on the streets calmly during the dawn (btw, i love argentina, want to live there as soon as possible).
Just once? Here is at least 3Holmes wrote:Hey! that happens once per day here.Zdm321 wrote: I didn't watch the actual robbery, but I watched police chase down and arrest someone that just robbed a jewelry store (person ran out of the store as soon as the police cars showed up). Re: Have you ever witnessed a murder/robbery?
I live in germany, was never robbed or anything else.
Each time i saw a robbery or someone who tries to break into a bank, they were always some police officers who arrest them.
I only hear from suicide a lot nowadays, people from school, rich people, people who are doctors or scientists...
Oh, but in my neighborhood is a insane man who has twenty-one guns and such stuff, only 6 are registried.
The police is almost every month here cause of some "neighborhood problems".
But to be honest i can´t imagine to go down a dark street and must fear for my money and live...

Re: Have you ever witnessed a murder/robbery?
Yeah, Argentina is a beautiful country, but the thing is, there is more and more robbery and murder from teenagers, we, students who go to school have to be very careful beacuse most of us are the victims.
Cause those teenagers, well, actually poor people, come to us and say:"Ehh my friend, have you got change?" and if you ignore him it is jus: "Ehh, what are you doing, give me evrything!" and everything is EVRYTHING literally. So, two options left: bravery comes and you confront him, run and see if anyone can help ypu or give him everything or gettien injured.
But, well, just have to be careful in some zones, but Argentina is lovely in many ways.
Also, many friends of mine have been robbed with a gun pointing at their heads, but they weren´t injured.

Re: Have you ever witnessed a murder/robbery?
Not the most comfortable things in remembering I'm surprised so many people replied (I don't want to read any because it's scary xD).
I went to visit my friend's university and then we went to hang out. Later we went back to find someone set fire to her dorm and burned down the whole building D:. The police thinks it's the work of arsens too.
When I lived in my old apartment the security wasn't that good and people would always come in and out. One time somebody pushed someone off the roof (at least that's what the news says). I was watching TV at the time and that someone just fell past our window
.
Last year I had night classes and sometimes I would arrive at dorm really late. One time I found out on the news that just a few min I left the building someone got stabbed. I got called in for witness but then I wasn't much help. Lots of stabbings at my university.
Recently there has been lots of people pushing people on to the subway tracks. One time when I was going to eat downtown someone got pushed D:. I didn't see anything I just heard someone screaming behind me. Luckily the train didn't get here and the person didn't fall on anything electric. I think the police manage to catch that guy.
Then a few days later when I went to the subway they closed the station just when I got there. It was becase someone had a heart attack at the platform but I thought someone pushed someone again ;_; so scary.
When I was in Venice with friends someone stole something from the store and was running away from the police/store workers. That person slipped and banged his head really hard on a railing and split his head open. Luckily the police was there already and they got medical quickly.

This isn't really off-topic at all, but this is my favorite image of all time and I have to share it. Unfortunately, not everyone will get it as you have to be familiar with certain parts of American pop culture, but hey!
The story here is that this is a "confession" column that people submit for a newspaper. And the result...

Just one time, not very long ago and not the actual part...
-A person was murdered in a mosque (Moschee - in german) while I was just walking in front of it. The police and the hearse were there within minutes, that was like "

Hope, that happens not again...
