had a dream where I got hired by someone for a super secret mission (oddly, I think the person who hired me was the person who played the evil queen in the show Once Upon a Time, not the queen herself, but the actress) that required me to go visit some mutant guy who was also a super-hacker with my roommate. At one point my roommate gets hungry, and the guy offers him food, which he eats, but then starts acting really weird. Then I look at the bag the guy handed to him and am just like "awww man, you just fed him shrooms didn't you" and the guy just starts laughing as I have to pick my friend who's wiggin out up and take him back to the train to go home. At one point I go to the bathroom and cough something up and it's a shroom and I'm just like "wtf man when'd he slip me that and how much did he slip me?", so I start just inducing vomiting. Then some lady opens the door to the bathroom and tells me to gtfo because the train's already arrived and it's about to leave, and I just wonder how the hell she opened the door to the bathroom, shouldn't it be locked or something?
Anyway, get back, and the person who hired me is there, and she tells me to drop the tracker she'd given me and bury it, because it'd been hacked and "they were on to us". So I push it into the ground and then push a stick in above it to get a pretty deep hole in the ground. As we're walking away, some guy runs up to the spot and just starts digging through the ground with his hands, screaming "where is it, where is it, WHERE IS IT?!" (despite the hole I buried it in being exceedingly obvious). I'm told that I have to run away (by this point my roomie is nowhere to be seen), and I look around and now the landscape looks like something out of minecraft. The area around us is all plains, but we're surrounded by mountains, on top of which a lot of towers are built. I look south and say I'll go there, but my employer tells me I shouldn't, because the towers to the south form the "Wall of Lao", which was constructed to keep the people of the forest, who we were apparently at war with, out. So instead, I go towards the mountains to the west to find a place to build my hideout. All the space on the ground is taken by towers, but I find a waterfall around which a clock face's been built. I go behind the waterfall and there's nothing there, so I decide to build the entrance to an underground home there. My companion (not my roomie or the employer, some other random person now) urges me not to because someone obviously builds around there, but I decide to do it anyway.
So then I instantly have this underground beach paradise with waterfalls and pine trees and stuff, which apparently I built myself. Then somehow a land-shark gets involved, and starts chasing us around. At this point I don't remember a whole bunch because it gets sort of weird, and the setting turns into the setting of a futuristic game show, and the land-shark turns into an extra-dimensional fractal entity made of a light-grid, which I'm standing on. The purpose of the gameshow is to move from one point of the entity to another, causing it to fold in on itself, until its true form is shown. This is apparently impossible, because nobody has ever succeeded, and they've all died trying. I know the truth though, because I know how it wants to be stepped on, and I fold it until it turns from a grid into a solid thing, at which point I'm standing beneath its main body and it remarks "you know, from down there, I bet I sorta look like a cat!" and it was true, because I'd revealed the thing's true identity as a giant bread-cat, sitting in the loaf position. Then it turned into a normal cat, and we were back in my beach paradise, and he was angry. He apparently thought that I had killed his brother, but then I told him that though I had his brother as a pet and he ended up dying, that he lived a long and happy life, and the cat started crying.
and that's pretty much as far as the dream went.
edit: and just for reference, the cat from underneath looked
sorta like this, except more bready and less hairy.
