Okay, lecturer, you encouraged us to take class off last week for Ridotto rehearsals because it's real-world experience and very valuable. That was awesome. But don't then send out the homework six hours before it's due and be all snarky about us only doing it at the last second. How the hell were we supposed to know what it was?! Nobody was here!

So not my day today. Maybe even just not my week.
Overslept and had to hurry to get ready for a doc appointment. Went down to get in the car to discover that there was more snow on the car--heavy wet snow. Oh well, we'll brush it off and get moving. Then the car wouldn't start. ~_~* Had to reschedule the doc appointment.
Front walk got blocked by snowplow, which means it needed cleared again or we wouldn't get mail. Archi called his mom to tell her about the car thing (not just that it wouldn't start, other stuff that's wrong with it and the failed inspection). He mentioned to her that the gal who hit us in November wants $99 (74 euro; ~63 GBP) to fix something on her car that broke, and assured her that the he could take care of it and the cost wouldn't break the bank even though money is tight. That's about the cost of having my main computer (that has been busted since August) fixed. I went to check what our finances are actually at and discovered that once rent and bills are factored in, we'll have just over $100 left--so yes, actually, that would break the bank this week or next. Or close enough, at any rate. This touched off an argument about finances, credit usage, and the car. (Archi and I have clearly different understandings of the proper use of credit and how the credit rating is affected by said usages. He also was apparently unaware that failing to pay the utility bills on time each month can ding the credit, which was why I got mad at him about the bills.) We need to have the credit/debt/finances discussion when he's not about to leave for work.
The car got jumped and runs again, and Archi cleared the walk. Since we have no money, we'll skip the mall this week and go car-shopping instead so we can figure out what we need/want and be able to hit the bank with a plan.
Called the internet provider to dispute a charge on the bill--it'll take a week to be dealt with, but at least they acknowledge that it was their error. Stupid thing is that the error seems to be a continuation of one I dealt with last year, where they were charging me a rental fee for the modem I owned. This was an 'unreturned modem' fee. Except why should I return something that isn't your property to start with?
Went to get the mail and found a letter from a student loan place indicating that they'd sent out stuff to disburse a loan I never requested/approved. Called the school, was told the financial aide director isn't in now. Called the loan place, they insisted they can't do squat and I have to go through the school. Called the school back and left a message asking financial aide to call me back tomorrow afternoon. Stabbed myself with a pen.
Also the weather cancelled not only my main weekend plans (game with friends in another city) but my backup plans (go to mall). With the car not starting and the weather being not-so-great again today (in addition to me still recovering from migraine last night) I didn't get to go anywhere today either, not even the doctor. So I haven't been farther than Rite-Aid since last Tuesday. Not fun.
With Archi under the weather a bit this week, some of the planned recipes haven't gotten made, and now we're out of leftovers, except for the chicken parm I'm not supposed to eat (cheeses that would be a cheat on my diet). We're also out of milk and due to the money situation I can't go buy more. (Well, and the shop I could reach is closed now anyway.)
I'm almost completely out of my tea. Storm meant we couldn't get more on Saturday like we normally would, so I ordered some online. It hasn't shipped yet. There is now a good chance I will run entirely out of my tea before the new batch arrives.
I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.

The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

Oh, Miaka, that's one of those days (or weeks) when everything that can go wrong, goes wrong. I hate that!!!!

Money stuff is always so hard to deal with. You are not alone!!!
Personally, i'm out of work for the moment. I quit work at the ennd of the year, because of my awful boss (i couldn't take it anymore).
I've been looking for a new job, but i haven't found one yet. I'm starting to worry about not finding a job.
So money's tight. Plus, there's always stuff you didn't count into your budget that come up at times like these.
Both cars needed repair, at least it wasn't as expensive as we thought it would be. And now we think that we'll be short on wood for heating this winter, so we need to buy more.

I don't know how to help you feel better ???
If you ever run out of tea, and don't have money to buy more, I can send you some, for real!!! I love tea, but i guess i got a few people that know about it and gave me tea as a gift.

I try to stay possitive, but i know it's tough at moments. Grown up life can be hard!!!!!

I just hope your week gets better ;)

Ah, I am out of work as well, cinnamoroll-san. Have been for about 3 years now. (Lost my job in January 2010.) It is not fun. ~_~* Being unable to drive doesn't help anything. Best of luck with finding a new job quickly!
Oh, don't even get me started on repairs. ~_~* Our car is several kinds of busted; we're thinking it might be better at this point to replace the battered old thing. My computer (the main laptop I normally use--I'm currently on a netbook that is significantly less powerful) has been out of commission since the beginning of August. The sewing machine quit on me December 24th while I was working on xmas gifts (which therefore remain unfinished as yet). House stuff we can get the landlord to fix, like the leaky sink faucet. The dryer hasn't worked right since we moved in, but getting it fixed/replaced has been a pain. Various other things don't operate as well as they should, or need other bits of fixing. Not a lot we can do about it, though.
I have enough tea for 3 more cups and I did order more, it just hasn't been shipped yet. I'm currently on a trigger-elimination diet to control migraines, so I can only have tea with no caffeine in it. Going to insist on getting some soda tomorrow, I think, since the tea will probably run out before the new shipment comes in. I would've bought it locally, but the storm cancelled my weekend. ~_~* The nearest shop that sells this particular tea is about 20mi away.
Part of the reason money is so tight right now is that we bought more oil a couple weeks ago. ~_~* Our place is heated with oil and electric space-heaters. We need the oil at least to have hot water.

Also, I apparently got a minor virus that sent a non-working link out to a bunch of people in my address book.... ~_~*

my bad story is finance related too  :-X

Most likely wont be able to go out on our 9th anniversary as it means unnecessary spending, my husband is trying to be positive and saying that we should, but I am being the voice of reason here as I can't see any improvement happening soon, we literary need every penny.

Finance is my big nightmare, as I wanted to be more secure at middle age, I wanted to give the kids better lifestyle than what I had, but I feel that it is ungratefulness to be sad because of money, every time a tear would drop I remind myself that it is better than any harm happening to my loved ones, I am sad when I am shouldn't, because worse things could happen. The worse thing for me is not seeing my mum this year, which means no holiday what so ever.
Every time I want to give up on DC, it manages to bring me back, it brings me back feelings I know that I will never ever feel or live again.

We all have money trouble i see.
I just hope it'll soon be over for all of us!!!!!!
Hang in there, better times must be coming!!!

I'm just trying to be positive. Even though it's hard sometimes, I try to think of the good stuff i do have.
And coming around the forums does help me, even if that sounds dumb. People here bring a little joy into my life :)

A woman asked me for gas money as I was filling up, and I was out of walmart gift cards, which is what I generally give people who ask me for food or gas money or whatever, so I went into the shop to find something similar. Turns out she'd called a man over to hide on the other side of my car and presumably take me by surprise while I was busy with the woman. The only reason I didn't get robbed or whatever was because two other people in the shop had seen the couple hanging around and followed me out to my car without my knowledge, and ran up and threatened to call the police before the man could say anything to me.

I guess I'm bummed because I wasn't even thinking about something like that. It was broad daylight, so I wasn't particularly on my guard, and I've been approached like that lots of times. I know intellectually that it can be shady to talk to people asking for money, but I always figured it was my decision either way, and I decided a long time ago that anyone who asked me for food money could have it whether they had a believable story or not. :P It's never put me in danger before, so now not only do I feel stupid for not realizing that could happen and being more careful, but those people who had to intervene because I was gullible might have been hurt if the couple had been armed or whatever.

It's been weighing on me all day.

It's good idea to give them cards so they get just what they ask for :x Lots of people go around asking for food money while wanting to buy booze, I think my grandmother once said that if someone asked her for food money, she would say that she'd love to follow him to restaurant and pay XD ^^'
