From my personal experience, saying a floor is to be "quiet" makes drunk people want to come up and destroy the place (which the process is quite loud).
Accessibility for people to floor is actually the most important key for a quiet floor, or the floor's theme has a specific trait to them, like "music" floor, which has students stuck in practice rooms all day and never party anyways.

in her case though it's not drunk people coming in and causing a ruckus, it's specifically people who live there, so access wouldn't change anything.

Access never seems to change things. I was living in the only women-only floor on campus the one time I can remember being ogled by a drunk guy. The floor itself is locked up such that you have to swipe your ID to get into it, and the only ones who can open the doors are people who live there (or possibly the IT guy assigned to the floor).
I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.

The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

Yeah, I know, I know. It was a great pun, but I can hardly admit to that, can I? :P

Made lasagne today and it is just barely okay. I mean it is edible but it doesn't taste much and kinda tastes like schoollasagne. Also it is too moist.

Headache started up again last night, can't take anything for it. Probably caused by muscle tension in my neck; I really need to get a massage.
Woke up this morning with the headache still going, and I feel like crap. First thing in the morning I had to take 2000mg of amoxicillin, which didn't help. By the time we had to leave for the dentist appointment, my tummy was starting to get upset and I was feeling even worse. A mouth full of dead bacteria doesn't taste good, which was not helping my stomach. We were also running up against the time limit of when Archi had to be at work. So I haven't had any yogurt, and thus my mouth is still yucky.
I haven't eaten anything today, and I'm not quite sure I dare to at the moment. We have no ginger ale, and while I considered picking up gari in the grocery store yesterday, I didn't actually get it. (Ginger helps settle the stomach.) Also I'm out of the prescription medication I usually take when my stomach is upset.
Long and short of it is that I feel like crap today so probably nothing will get done. Archi assures me this is OK, but there is a lot of stuff that needs done...

It's snowing again, which means it is COLD. Also I am waiting around for the maintenance guy to show up to fix my faucet. Not sure when he'll get here, which means I'm not allowed to leave the house. Running laundry to help with the heat, which works because of the odd dryer we have.
Sewing machine appears to be borked, I tried the fixes the guy at the repair shop suggested and didn't get anywhere. Getting the machine fixed at the shop will cost $80 (58.98 euro, 50.81 GBP) plus parts, and I only paid $100 (73.72 euro, 63.51 GBP) for it initially. Best bet, therefore, is to save up at least $250 (184.31 euro, 158.78 GBP) to buy a new machine from the repair shop, which will come with lessons and a 2 year parts & service warranty plus cleanings. This means no sewing for a while....

Here it is usually warmer when snowing. It rarely snows when it is colder than minus 10 degree Celsius. Obviously we have warm days when it isn't snowing but in general cold days means that it isn't snowing.

Not sure if it's actually colder when snowing here (though I think I live a little bit south of you) but it certainly FEELS cold when it's snowing. Maybe it's just that a glance out the window will remind me that it's winter and cold. Then again, today it's not snowing and it still feels just as cold. I should go grab a sweater....

snow's basically an indicator that weather is on the warmer side of freezing, or at the very least, changing cold->warm or warm->cold. The saturation point of air drops a ton the colder it gets, so snow happens when warmer, near-saturated air hits cold air, causing the warm air to cool down, lowering its saturation point and forcing precipitation. You can get snow without "warm" air too, but because of how little moisture's in the air when it's cold all the time, it won't be much.

it's very possible though to look at snow and immediately feel cold though :P

This is a sort of bad, sort of hilarious story.

So, I was at work today, working at the customer service desk.  A couple came up and wanted to return a few things they had purchased using a check about 5 days ago.  It is our policy not to return items purchased by check until at least 7 days have passed.  I explained this to them and they were extremely unhappy.  I offered to put the return amount onto a gift card (because my supervisor had told me that would be alright) and they refused.  I explained that we have to wait 7 days to make sure the check clears, blah blah blah.  They were still angry and said, "I made this drive from (a place roughly 30 miles away, a drive I make every single day) just to return this!  blah blah blah"  My manager ended up returning it for cash to shut them up, basically.  Later, the lady came back to the customer service desk and wanted to speak to the manager again.  Two of my managers (our store has several, by the way) were in the room just behind our service desk, so I asked one of them to come speak to her.  I didn't realize it was the same lady at the time.  So the one who hadn't spoken to her already talked to her and she told him I was being rude and a smart mouth.  He came up to me later and told me what she'd said.  Luckily, he knows me better than that and knew something was just totally wrong with that lady; apparently she wouldn't even look him in the eye while she was talking to him.

The best part of the night, though, was when my managers were talking about her and making jokes about how she wouldn't look them in the eye.  Cheered me up pretty well. :)

Those kind of people are the worst part of working retail-related jobs. I'm glad your manager(s) are good enough to recognise that the couple were talking crap.
