Yes.

As far as I am concerned, there's nothing wrong with it. Also, I don't see why people should stick their noses into other people's business.

I personally support gay getting married in a marriage of state... you know, the marriage with the Justice of the Peace at the courthouse that makes you recognized by the LAW as being married (with all of its legal benefits and drawbacks)? Marrying through the "church" (and by that, I'm blanketing all organized religions that actually have wedding rituals) just means you asked whatever god(s) you worship to recognize the bond of matrimony between the two of you, and he/she/they agreed to do so. The Christian God doesn't recognize marriage unless it's between a man and a woman, so you simply can't get married in the Christian church if you're homosexual. ::)

(Really, marriage of state shouldn't have to concede to the rules of a religious marriage... >_>)

I don't understand the problem with homosexuality at all. If two people love each other, what does physical sex matter?

Yes
Reason: Love is love. Like my friend once said when she found out her boyfriend loves another guy, "He's not wrong, he didn't love that person because he's male, he loves that person, and it just so happens that the person he loves is male."
So really, love is beyond age, gender, sex, status, etc.

there is no (good) reason for government to enforce the moral values of religions.

student, male, 20, usa.

edit, a good quote: "The only purpose for which power can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilized community, against his will, is to prevent harm to others."

"The energies of our system will decay; the glory of the sun will be dimmed, and the earth, tideless and inert, will no longer tolerate the race which has for a moment disturbed its solitude. Man will go down into the pit, and all his thoughts will perish. The uneasy consciousness, which in this obscure corner has for a brief space broken the contented silence of the universe, will be at rest. Matter will know itself no longer. 'Imperishable monuments' and 'immortal deeds,' death itself, and love stronger than death, will be as though they had never been."

Yes, because we can't help who we love, and we should not be afraid to be who we really are. I've a lot of friends who label or consider themselves as homosexuals, and they're quite agreeable, as far as I can tell.

Haha XD I thing you got it wrong Abs. :x
it should be: "It's not okay to be homosexual, but it's not okay to engage in homosexual activities, WOOOOOOO YEAHHHHHHH!" :P

I think for Tawi it's like having a thought, but not practicing the though.
Like hating a person, a teacher for example and you'd think: "I'd kill him!" but you just have the thought. But you don't really kill the teacher (I hope ;_;)

I agree with Aly.
As long as people can marry state wise, why do they have to marry church wise too, if it doesn't fit into the church "rules"?
The state should give everyone equal chances and rights. And also punishment.
But the church is a group of people with certain rules they made looooong ago. If you accept the rules of that group, then you can "join". If you don't accept the rules, why do you want to change the group and "force your own rules" onto the group? (whether your rules are better or not, doesn't matter here)
If the people in that group don't want your rules, then let them be imo. The church split into different groups already anyway, so just do your own group then?

Both parties want to "force" the other one to something they don't want. Just leave each other alone IMO XD Then everything should be fine :x

Also, people should respect each others opinions/believes/way of life more. That applies to both, to people that accept homosexuality and to people that don't accept it.
As long as both don't bash, smash or kill each other, or take away rights from the other one, everything should be fine again.

Let's take Vegetarians as a example. They can disagree with others eating meat because of their own believes. They can try to talk with me about it and disagree with my views, but as long as they let me eat my meat, there is no problem at all.
Same for homosexuality (and other stuff). As long as you just disagree, but let them be, everything is alright \o/

That's why I don't agree with some people here "making fun" of the ones that voted no :P

Callid wrote: Also, considering the bible argument:
It may be that (some?) Christians believe homosexuality is immoral, but considering that countries are (or at least, definitely should be) independent of religion, the doctrine of a particular religion is completely irrelevant to the law, just like it is to anyone not part of said religion. Even if 99.9% of the people in that country follow this one religion, it shouldn't be of any significance.
It's not really the "problem", that they have a religion. But that the majority has the same opinion.
It could also be, that a country follows the ideals of one person.
And when 99.9% of the people follow that one opinion, then that opinion will also arrive at the law system, because, especially with democracy, the majority forms the rules. And the majority doesn't always have to choose the "right" rules. That's why democracy isn't perfect.

Voted yes, 'cause I have nothing against it, and it's as natural as anything else. ^^;
