Re: What's on your mind?
It took a couple days of wrist pain for me to decide that I needed to fix my guitar strap. It was too long when I first got it, so I did initially take it to a leather store to have some extra holes punched, hoping that I could shorten it. Well, it did get shorter, but not short enough for my comfortable range. The other guitar strap I have is perfect length. I didn't want to take it to the leather store again since I didn't want to bother them (they only charged me $5 the first time) so I just dealt with it. Haven't played with a strap for a while, only did this past weekend and my right wrist started to hurt terribly.
Anyway, I started with a kitchen knife (?!) and made some really bad cuts to my precious, limited edition $150 strap (ouch!) Luckily I found a sharp scalpel in my tools drawer (totally forgot I had this), which made the process much easier. And it worked!!!!! Now it's at a very comfortable length, so hopefully I can start playing with better form and stop hurting my wrist.

Desperate to look for help; I turn to this site. Does anyone has time to do a peer review for an essay for an English class. (That sentence was hard to write.)

I thought the entire point of peer reviewing was anonymity?Kamite wrote:Desperate to look for help; I turn to this site. Does anyone has time to do a peer review for an essay for an English class. (That sentence was hard to write.)

I get the feeling he just wants/asks someone to read his essay and say whether it's good or needs some improvements.
That said, exactly because the subject is English...

I'd love to help out but I've only read high school English so I don't know if my opinion is good enough :x

I can review it if you like. Just let me know what specifically you need input on.Kamite wrote:Desperate to look for help; I turn to this site. Does anyone has time to do a peer review for an essay for an English class. (That sentence was hard to write.)
Took an online "English vocabulary level" test a while back and it said I have a vocab to rival Shakespeare. (Whut?) I mean, I'm a verbivore and always have been (something I get from my family, going back for several generations). That doesn't mean I never run across a word I don't know. (Granted that doesn't happen particularly often, but still...)
OMM: End of the Summer Children's Series at the local theater. N's b-day is Tuesday. Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No-Good, Very Bad Day is not even a particularly interesting book, so I don't understand why they decided to do it as a play. Next week we're going to see a movie that my friend says is really good.
I really need to work on learning kanji, and even more on actually learning Japanese words. Fortunately I know the story of P4 well enough to follow it in Japanese even without actually being able to read the text. Some of it I actually can work out. "けいやく” is contract. Admittedly I worked that out partly based on Kinomoto Sakura's incantation for summoning her wand. And no, I do not know if I spelled that correctly. I did manage to name my character with the same characters used for the MC in the anime. Yes I had to go look it up. Romaji is Narukami Yu, kanji is ”鳴上 悠” (Ok, I had to go copy-paste that from another page, because my computer wasn't giving me the right combination of kanji when I tried to type it in.) I haven't actually gotten very far in the story yet. I can figure out just enough to decide what I'm going to say. I said "よろしく” to Dojima-san both when I first met him and when we talk at his house later on. I could figure out just enough to accurately ask Nanako-chan what her dad does. (I recognize the kanji for "father")
Yes, I am a random chatterbox. I think I need to add another two rounds to the baby blanket I'm making in order to achieve the size I was going for. Need to work on that, because I want to have it finished Sunday so I can wrap it.
Ok, enough random chattering, time to go straighten out my brain a bit...
I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.
The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

Had a terrible headache and felt like i was going to faint. Asked for a glass of orange juice. The second I took a sip, I realized that it was low blood sugar. Holy hell.

I definitely do need that, but I'd likely require it be donated in the name of science at that price. Beautiful machine nonetheless!LadyCider wrote:Jd- where you at? You need this http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/showthread.php?t=343558

Ran and walked for 4 hours in like +10 celsius rain I'm FREEZING. I'm glad I have a sauna in this new apartment but in situations like this I wish it'd heat up much faster...
