Actually that's true, though the latter is rarely used, and surprisingly most often by literature teachers only.
My dad’s a soldier blue I’ll be a soldier, too
When I grow older you will see me rescue you
I’ll teach you this old song so you can sing along
When I am dead and gone the day won’t be so long.

But I thought metaphor was a comparison and hyperbole was an [extreme] exaggeration. Probably what Slider's thinking too?

Maybe it's because both involve claiming one thing is something other than what it is...?

(Yeahno, not a clue)

But You could also use: "Metaphorically saying..." which You could use to say something without sounding rude when You would when You could be using a hyperbole. You indeed are comparising two things, but just to use them as a hyperbole.

Indeed, but nothing is as simple as it sounds. Especially in linguistics. For example in English the word "bear" can mean for example a certain animal, or can also mean that we're withstanding something. Same here - Google states that metaphor can (also) be equal to hyperbole, but that's one of its usages (and it's not a sole usage).

Well.. I think that was the intent.

trying to figure out how hyper link code works
I'm a bit tired of myself posting links that in some cases take up two full lines of text
I just want them to be the word "link" or the word "source"

Uh. Info below:
My younger sister was caught using Facebook to talk to some guy no one in the family knows. The guy was asking creepy questions. I'm not sure what to say about this.

My parents already handled it. She's basically been grounded without technology until school starts for her.

Same here - Google states that metaphor can (also) be equal to hyperbole, but that's one of its usages (and it's not a sole usage).

Well.. I think that was the intent.
Except that is... not remotely the same thing?

A metaphor is a way of describing something by saying that it IS something else (rather than a simile, which is saying that something is LIKE something else--for example, saying "that man is a pig" is a metaphor, whereas "that man eats like a pig" is a simile). Hyperbole is to extensively over-exaggerate something, for example: "Detective Conan has been going on forever!"

Metaphors can be hyperbolic, such as saying "that girl is a whale" to say a girl is a bit fat (of course if you say something like this your next words better be sincere apologies). But that does not make hyperbole and metaphor the same thing nor are they equal to each other. They can OVERLAP, that's all, as can hyperbole and similes.

why do people keep calling things a "raw" when it has obviously been edited

>_<

I've seen like 5 examples of this in the past week.
