An update.

The only reason I say that there are coyotes in the area are because I have seen many canine prints (I don't think they're dogs), I once found a ravaged dear carcass down there that was gone in a day, and a couple years ago, my neighbors said that they saw some coyotes.  However, the coyotes that they saw could have been just passing through, and everything else could have been by a fox.  I saw some scat on a log today that looked like a fox's, and that's usually where they leave it.  I don't remember enough about prints to be able to tell by those, though.

This doesn't really change anything about not wanting my cat to go down there alone, though.. I'm just saying, I think I was wrong about the coyotes.

...In other news, I found what I think might be a Native American mortar down there (as in mortar and pestle).  It looks exactly like the ones on Google Images, anyway..  I also saw a lot of crows circling an area, but as I was making my way there, I started to think about how carnivores would probably just avoid me if I stumbled upon them at a different time, but I was afraid they would try to protect their food source if I got near to them at the site of a kill.. I figured that's what it was, so when I saw a silhouette of something four-legged moving around beneath where the crows were circling, I thought it'd be a better idea if I just turned back.  It was still cool, though.  It was really fun to sneak and leap around in the woods. :D

PS: I am sorry for my wall of text.

Are now in the new apartment :D Soon the moving truck will be here, I am very happy we got one of those instead of doing it all on our own. But I think this place will be great when we are finished.

Caught up to My Dark King... can't wait until an update, but I will, because chapters are typically >30,000 words and the author's got a new job.

In the meantime... Oooh! It has a TvTropes page!

Successful product launch party at work. A recently changed industries (from media to corporate/IT/music) and though seeing all the press people at the event kind of made me miss covering events, I think I made the right decision.

Probably should've added my happy story from yesterday, which was that the Panto was, as ever, brilliant.

We were twenty minutes late because we missed our train (The ONE TIME you run early, ScotRail! The ONE TIME!) but a very nice usher let us in anyways. We missed most of the opening song, but that didn't really matter since a couple minutes after we sat down, Prince Charming and Dandini came in fencing in ruffled shirts and tight trousers. Both of them were hot, but Prince Charming won out because then he took off his shirt and DEAR LORD THE MAN IS MORE CHISELLED THAN ALL THE STATUES IN FLORENCE. He seriously just stood there with no shirt for an entire conversation, validating the presence of  the teenage girls in the audience and waking up the hassled mothers. He is played by Paul Luebke. Never has Prince Charming been more appropriate.

Also, the heavily flaming (even by the standards of a guy in musical theatre) Lord Chamberlain was an absolute laugh riot throughout the play, especially when he snuck into the line of girls trying on the glass slipper- and it fitted!

He was only topped by, naturally, The Big Three. Andy Gray was back to complete the Holy Trinity of Panto once more, as Buttons, and he and Allan Stewart as Baroness McSquirrely were on rare form. They've clearly had a long nine weeks, but if you can count on anyone to take a huge flub on stage and turn it into a hilarious improv comedy routine, it's Allan Stewart (and between deflating breasts and dropped wigs, he's had to do it a lot over the years :P). Grant Stott was a fantastic villain as ever, being the elder of the Ugly Stepsisters (first time I've seen him in drag; luckily his legs aren't as nice as Allan Stewart's. They're bad enough for a girl's self-esteem.) Though he generally had to resort to fourth-wall breakage to cover up major flubs.

Although he did scare away the poor girl picked to go onstage. Generally they bring up a little girl whose birthday it is and let her play a pivotal role in the play, but in this case, Ellie, who was four, ran screaming from the stage when she saw Grant Stott and refused to return ^_^;

Also, there is nothing funnier in the world than two middle-aged men in drag having a catfight.

So glad they've brought back "Rockin' All Over The World" for the finale, too. They stopped doing it for a few years for some reason.

Generally, a brilliant night out. Fourteen years in a row I've been going to the King's Theatre Panto and I fully intend to be back next year. Especially if they have AdonisPaul Luebke back. Yum, yum <3
