It was a glorious three degrees today! A fair bit of snowmelt was going on, it was practically raining off our guttering!

Fathers birthday, I slept almost 24 hours since yesterday, and looking back on the days me and my friend spent before she passed away.

This week, we had our ENGLISH WEEK in school... different contests were held... earlier we had pageant "Search for Mr. and Ms. English 2010... Two of our Classmates joined.. one boy and one girl... our boy classmate, won two minor awards (i  forgot) ... unfortunately our girl Classmate did not win anything... our boy classmate made it into the Top 5... AND he won the title "Mr. English 2010"!!! CONGRATS TO HIM and US!!

when you first mentioned it, it sounded more like a language ability contest, but looking at the dresses those girls are wearing, they look a bit elaborate for that. 

What type of pageant is it? Because if it's an appearance-based one I'm not sure why it's named after a language.

@akonyl: it's really about literature ... at the first part.. they have a character to represent each country... e.g our female candidate represent Fa Mulan from China(i just wasn't able to post) and they have to perform based on the story and based on the country they represent .. when they introduced their selves, grammar, pronunciation, etc are already judged.. and not scripted.. but  it is also a beauty pageant... there is a Q & A portion... whereas questions are really hard.. there is also.. talent portion... in every pageant the dress is also judged ftw...
