Sherlock Holmes is not based on love story, although Sherlock had some love affairs with Irene Adler, it was just a brief confirmation of having a love affair. Imagine if Detective Conan turns into a love story. If that is the case, then I'd rather resign loving Detective Conan and support Detective Academy Q and Kamen Tantei (The Masked Detective) after all of it mixes love story.

Aoyama Gosho idolized(i think) sherlock holmes and BASED THE CASES on Holmes' CASES... he is a WRITER... he has his own ideas!!! adding a love story makes the story plot a little more mysterious....conan's love story with ai which is a member of the organization still makes her a mysterious girl even if conan trusts her... and shinichi's love story with ran.....their love story is a little mysterious because of the choice "if you tell her she might get in trouble"... Ran who followed conan and saw Vermouth's face(ep 345) already makes her as part of the mystery with the B.O..... no FROM THE 1ST episode... she's already a part.... don't worry it will end BUT NOT NOW!!.

i'm an admin of the "Detective Conan and Magic Kaito" fanpage (>}kate-chan_49{>there are lots more of it if you are researching. It doesn't mean that when you are a fan, you must love the way it is. tell them to get a hyping life instead of going to places specifically to hate on anime. If they want to do that they can bitch about Haruhi season 2 or something.

also checked Wikipedia: Detective Academy Q = 45 episodes/22 volumes.

Manga-wise that's almost as long as what most consider Conan's peak (where no anime/manga could ever hope to beat it). And that's just the Haibara through end of Vermouth stuff. (not including the comparably awesome stuff in lesser arcs of the series like...almost anything aired in 2008)

........I side with the DC fans on the fact that DC isn't boring, but I side with that user for the fact that DC has to end soon. I mean, loooong loooong anime = a bit repetitive and a little dragged on... Naruto started off AWESOME but slided down later... So yeah. Awesome things need to have an awesome ending! And the sooner that awesome conclusion to the awesome plot of the awesome manga/anime comes, the better. ^^ (oh lol)

I never saw it like this. Shin x Ran is hardly the topic of Detective Conan IMO.

Those guys are contradicting themselves anyway. They want more -mystery- cases but complain that there isn't enough BO stuff in those 500 anime episodes (in which there are a lot of AOs in it, which just have mystery cases in it anyway. And almost no love story stuff...)

Because the pace was always like that. And if the liked the earlier episodes more, there were even less BO cases (they even removed Gin and Vodka lol). So now we have more BO cases, and of course, people want to see more of it. So, ending it earlier is bad, because Gosho just came to the BO part actually.
Gosho is just evil and wants us to suffer with that slow pace. I agree with that ;p But there is still a lot of other good stuff that gosho puts in there besides the BO story (main story). There is love story, mysteries, cultural stuff, slapstick etc.

And besides, the love story is important to the plot.
Because Shinichi turned into conan the first episode. He wanted to tell people that he turned small. But Agasa warned him that he'll put his loved ones into danger (which was mainly Ran back then).
So conan had to stay silent and go after the BO while hiding. Then there was also the case where Yusaku and Yukiko asked Shinichi, if he wouldn't better go with them to america, because it's too dangerous in Japan for him now. But he refused because he loves Ran and didn't want to leave japan because of that.
After that, Haibara appeared and told him, that the BO is very dangerous and would kill anyone who knows about it's existence. Thus conan can't even tell the police that he's Shinichi. And he can definitely not tell Ran even if he wanted. (Heiji kinda figured it out himself and threatened him to tell Ran if he doesn't tell him the whole truth XD Others who know are already involved with the BO (FBI/CIA))

So much for the love story being boring... it's actually used to make it exciting and to explain some stuff. (since conan could also just be heartless and tell everyone about the BO. Getting everyone into danger)

But some people just don't understand how storytelling works
Also, DC has elements/similarities from Sherlock Holmes and other detective stories. It's not a copy. So having a love story and other stuff in it is not "wrong".

I also agree to that. It's an element in DC. But there is so much other stuff too, that's it's not annoying or boring because of that (for me at least).

Yeah, I agree to that. Maybe it's not the only reason (like you said) but it definitely affects people.
