Re: just some randomness... who have pets???
We've got a fat orange cat (model: Garfield) who's very clingy and follows us everywhere, as long as it's somewhere with a) food or b) a place to sleep, and c) no dog around (he's afraid of our dog, unfortunately).
Our dog is a rottweiler, very sweet, dares to go after the cat because he runs away from him, doesn't go after the cat from our neighbours because that one fights back full throttle, and leaves our parrot alone because he's been bitten twice in the nose by her. ;D
The parrot is an African grey parrot with red tail, is only nice to my mother (that's typical, parrots mostly only like one person), talks a lot, is free to walk around the house every day, and lays eggs once to twice a year (each time 3 eggs).
Our other bird is a marroon-bellied parakeet, surprised us by showing us he learned to talk (probably influenced by our parrots. He talks like a cassette recorder though), functions as an alarm system whenever he notices something suspicious or threatening (very sharp noise), is free to fly around the house for some time once a day whenever the parrot is not out of her cage, likes to take baths and make everyone wet who's in the neighbourhood and loves to dare the cat to go after him by flying very close over his head (seriously, suicidal bird!).
Lastly we've got a red-eared slider inhabiting our pond in the garden (unless it's winter), who loves to sunbathe and eat fresh meat, preferable maggots or earthworms. (S)He lives together with about 6 goldfish, on which we're keeping an eye since that turtle could try to take a bite from the fish. Until now, nothing happened though, they're still being friends. The fish got pots and algae to hide in, and stay in the pond during winter.
We also had a long-legged spider in our living last summer, who always came out around midnight, but I'm afraid that one fell victim to the sleeping hunting skills of our cat. During autumn, we've also got a lot of cross spiders in our garden, so many that we have to wave our hands in front of us when going in our garden in order to not walk face first into their nets. -_-
Yeah, my mom likes animals, as I do, my father went along with it, and my brother likes them as "subordinates" ^^ We've had quite a lot of animals.

Re: just some randomness... who have pets???
I want to post some pictures of the two kittens we just brought home today, but every time I try I get the red X in the white square instead of the picture. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

where'd you upload the pictures? And are you sure it's the link to the picture itself and not just a page for the picture?pofa wrote: I want to post some pictures of the two kittens we just brought home today, but every time I try I get the red X in the white square instead of the picture. I love animals!!! I don't have pics, so I'll just say. I have a sheltie named Lily, a long haired tabby cat named Sasha, a calico cat named Rose Petal, and a Guinea pig named Mr. Bean that has almost the exact same colouring as my dog~! Also, my family fosters cats so we've had more than 80. Right now I have 7 foster cats on top of my other pets!

I don't have any animals at the moment, I used to have cats an dogs though. My favourite was my cat Obelix, he was really tiny and liked to follow me to the school bus. But I'm going to get lots of cats, I'll be crazy cat-lady.

Not my fault. They were already named when I got them.
I'm not going to change it, though. And you're the first person who's noticed.

I bet everyone notices, they just don't point it out because they feel so bad for the cat.

I'm not sure it was supposed to be the joke Akonyl's thinking of, since the boy in the litter was named Othello.
Honestly, I think the lady was just a Shakespeare fan and didn't realize what she'd done. But Emilia and Bianca are nice names, don't you think?

bianca means white in italian (at least for the feminine form), so for that particular cat it's a horrible namenomemory wrote: I'm not noticing, what is the joke?
and it's good to know that it wasn't intentional at least.
