Oh dear...real world politics on a DC forum.
I personally sport some pretty radical political/religious ideas, and if I expressed them here some people who disagreed might make negative judgments about my moral character and intelligence based simply off of what I believed.
This is a place where people united by their interest in the manga and anime franchise Detective Conan discuss it freely without regard to political/religious differences. Holding discussions about real world controversial issues here might detract from that, IMO.

Take a glimpse at the history of the off topic board. You will find that politics, religion and social issues were discussed occasionally back when the forum was more lively.

This is a place where people united by their interest in the manga and anime franchise Detective Conan discuss it freely without regard to political/religious differences. Holding discussions about real world controversial issues here might detract from that, IMO.

This is the Off Topic section, though, not one of the boards designated for the purpose of discussing Conan stuff. I've been in this forum for years and have also moderated it for years. I can assure you people "survived" through those discussions (besides some specific salty people who were salty even before taking part in said discussions). If you don't wish to take part in such conversations that's completely up to you.

Yes, I am aware of what the Off Topic section is.
All I'm saying is that if one's political views are known here, and another user finds those views to be extremely distasteful, then it could have a negative impact down the road on discussions that actually do pertain to Conan.
I'm still a noob at this point (and even if I wasn't, I wouldn't be a Mod) so I have no right to determine what kind of threads are and aren't okay here. I'm simply raising a suggestion, and I apologise if I came across as rude.

We're not going to ban discussions about politics, religion, social issues, etc. That's really all there is to say.
