I'd say the male counterpart to a princess is not a prince, and not really a king either, but a knight. So, the medieval role of a girl is a princess, and the medieval role of a boy is a knight. But what exactly is the male equivalent of the colour pink or that horse-fawning?Akonyl wrote: even discounting the obvious "princesses are girls" angle, the whole thing of daydreaming about being a princess isn't something that quite has a male analogue imo (you don't see little boys being walked around with "daddy's little prince" clothes). The closest thing would probly be wanting to be a king, but even then those fantasies tend to be driven less by "I want to be pampered nobility" and more "I want to control everything", and it isn't marketed as heavily as princesses (like Disney Princesses and all the aforementioned glittery "little princess" stuff) are.

There's a reason I called it horse-fawning, not horse-ridingPhoenixTears wrote: Riding horses is girly....? How?
I've known probably more men that into horseback riding and such than girls.
