Vol.02 Chapter 7: Hustler VS. Magician

Not exactly a chapter -- more of a bonus story, near as I can tell, and may not strictly be canon. That said, I've always really liked this one, and would love to see it animated someday. Oh, and the three-page omake/sales-ad is in there, too.

Now that I've got all the chapters done, there's something I've been mulling over for a while: going back, tidying up, and releasing the entirety of Vol. 2 as a single download. Is this something people would like to have me do (say, if you've caught a typo I missed or something doesn't make as much sense as I thought it did), or should I just leave it and get started on Vol. 3? The reason is mostly because I've gotten better than I was when I started, though it wouldn't be anything drastic; I'd mostly be giving things another look-over and tweaking the translation in a few places. There's a pun in CH. 08 that went completely over my head the first time, for example.

I say go ahead and release the entirety of Vol. 2 and that way those who want it can get it. If they don't, well, no worries.

why not say it's canon.  From reading Icka's Kid fan page the series has always been sporadically released. I note a large gap between the relase of chapters one and two.  It's not surprising a one of the chapters would be cut for page space in the magazine.  And it lends to the theory that it's Jii helping Kid in a few of the Detective Conan appearances.  Also Aoko torments Kaito with Fish panties.  I so see this happening right after chapter one,  the fun of finally having something to get Kaito back with hasn't worn off yet.

When was it ever stated that this chapter wasn't canon? Anyway, it's an awesome chapter and you're an awesome person <3

Good point. I'll go with it, then, and try to get it out before too long.

True, true. I am actually of the opinion that it's canon, if for no other reason than the fun information present here (Jii's billiards hall, fish panties, the flashback with little Kaito, etc.). My "may not strictly be canon" comes from me probably over-thinking things (like the "End of Vol. 2" tag that was at the end of Ghost Game), and the timeline discrepancy between this and the Phantom Lady chapters -- which can be easily forgiven as it's been, what, more than twenty years between Gosho working on them and can be fixed by tacking on another decade since Jii and Tsuujirou's match. This chapter is one of my favorites, after all.

I've kinda taken all of the MK chapters as canon, loosely overlapping with DC canon.

Gosho:no one will notice Conan as a teen is Kaito but a detective instead of a theif. Wait what do you mean I got a good response. Crap maybe i should change Ran's hair a bit more.

All right, more good quality scans and translations! I hope you'll keep redoing everything, since the older scans look like they were done in 10 minutes compared to these. Good work!
