Well i didn't think that far .....but they look almost the same maybe his brother or some kin.
However they do practice in the same field

Unless we see him mentioned later on in the Magic Kaito manga, at some point, then he was just a side character for that particular case (File 487–File 490/Episode 406–Episode 408).
