Hmmm.... Uhhh... in what field? I mean isn't it depends in the field they are working at? Or is it in term of IQs? ....

Because then Gosho Aoyama is the Smartest!!!!!!! XDDDD LOL

yeah... it was very smart of him to make intelligent characters... and how on earth did he come up with those mind-boggling crimes, codes, etc??

like some people said ,aoyama is the smartest!!! to find all these trick to commit a murder,he's a pure genius!!!
by the way i voted for Ai/shiho!seriously,create a drug like that ,at 18,she's a genius!she also can solve murders(like in vol 21...)if she want seriously,but conan is more skilled for that(same thing with yusaku,heiji...)
i think most of people in this thread are very smart but in different way and different categories!

Well fact is Yusaku is.

its hard to tell whose smarter with kaito kid and shinichi

and obviously shinichi is a lil smarter than heiji

Since when is "coolness" or "fun" a factor to detect the intelligence of people?
I can agree with things like "science knowledge" or "deductions", but "coolness" or "fun"
are rather describing their personalities.
(Still donÂ´t get whatÂ´s supposed to be that fun about Heiji anyways.)

I can never figure out how to answer this topic since it depends how you personally measure intelligence $:-\$ .

For example a person can be a genius who unravels the mysteries of the universe but can still be a complete idiot when he pisses off every single person he has ever met so in the end they'll steal his work, throw him in a bin, and send him to mars.

Or another example will be girls who are smart but acts stupid so their parents won't throw them out of the house for over shadowing their older male siblings.

...but maybe those examples are just from where I come from xD.

Wouldn't some people call a comedian someone who's absolutely brilliant? Aren't sculptors and painters and some people who throws tomatoes at paintings called geniuses? Aren't Historians, Poets, Mangakas, Doctors, Fat man who sit in chair and solves crimes also considered intellectuals?

Meh most people are overatted by hype.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that intelligence is judged depending on many factors. It really depends what you feel like measuring at the moment.

And to be more on topic I think Conan/Shinichi is the smartest simply because of Main Character Hax. Even in terms of (pratical) scientific knowledge Conan (the highschool student) is better then Haibara (the scientific genius).

1) Conan can tell the difference between chemicals without a lab test faster then everyone, everytime.

2) Haibara doesn't know how to deal with static electricity....that was weird.

3) The drug Haibara make is a soft science nightmare which is the equivalent of a stone that shed tears of immortality on a full moon. I have no idea how to gadge her scientific knowledge right now xD. Hence why I said pratical- as in knowledge she can use in her daily I-see-corpses-everywhere life.

If conan's dad is smarter than conan, then it's definetely yusaku in overall smarts.

But, I think Gin can damn be up there, they seem to be tactical geniuses. Gin can sense traps, what his enemies are planning.

I agree... she's the type who would run away from her fear ^_^... only since she have met Conan that she started to face them ^_^

Tactical genius, Science Genius, Deduction Genius, Fictional Genius, Etc, = Aoyama Gosho!XDDDD

But Yeah... considering Yusaku and... Toichi (?) are both smarter than their sons... then okaythey are the genius here... but then the one who take down Toichi, Snake (?) wouldn't he be smarter??? Then it's all back to the BO being smarter XDDD....
