Mina's colorings

Post by Mina »

I have done some colorings of Conan in the past but not recently because of college work. But now that I'm in winter break, got some chance and did it.

It's a panel of Kid from File 676:

I'm not great at shading so I just shaded the parts Aoyama-sensei shaded in the original pic ^_^;

I have older colorings that I did and can post them here if anyone wants to see....

Wow, amazing job :o

It's a perfect replication of Kid's normal appearance. Very nicely done. You should consider doing an entire file sometime from the English version--that'd be very interesting to see indeed. :P

Thanks ^_^

whoa, an entire file.... would be an impossible task for me. I tend to perfectionist when it comes to cleaning/coloring so getting even one panel like above takes me hours to do ^_^;

That's so gorgeously clean  :o, your perfectionist skillz really pay off!

Did you redraw some of his lines?  The way you coloured the monocle was just awesome!
Hey, I have an idea, let's have a THIS SUCKS / NO THIS SUCKS / NO YOU / NO YOU argument for a couple pages, that will really be great. - Ingmar

Thanks! :D Yep, I redraw pretty much every line (except for the text because I'm too lazy for that part... I was really tempted to just take the text bubbles out and redraw the parts underneath... won't be too hard with this pic, luckily) to make gray-ish lines black and thicken some of the lines that got thinner when I extracted only the black/gray parts out of the original pic (I use Photoshop)

Here's three of my "older" works  :)

Conan(not in his typical suit):

Another Kid(in disguise): (not too happy with my cleaning of the jacket in this one...)

I notice a Kaitou Kid theme going on.  The first (op) and third (Kuroba) are obviously Kid.  The second (Conan in jacket) is from the Seiran painting case.    ;)

I use the brush and go over the line few times (depending on thickness). If you hold the shift key down, you can make straight lines with brush tool too. If the line gets a little too "fuzzy", I use the lasso tool to cut out the fuzzy parts on the sides of the line.

I have no idea how to use the pen tool, to be honest... maybe I should try that... might save me time with cleaning...

Oh and I recommend not doing what I did with OP coloring... which is to use point mouse(like the little dot in middle of the keyboard) that are on some laptops. My figure hurt after a while, haha
