I have been starting efforts to rework a few things in the rather long fanfic I've been working on off-and-on for a few years. It's somewhat Ayumi-centric, in that things get started with the murder of her parents and her apartment being burned out.
I'm attempting to update it to include newer characters (Sera, Amuro) and more recent events (anything post-London). This and a small shift in who Ayumi's remaining relatives are, is going to take a good bit of work to revamp.
Thing is, the story wasn't anywhere close to finished to begin with, so I'm asking for a bit of help.
#1: I'm having trouble with some of the scenes that belong in the first chapter, for which I'd like to ask the assistance of someone who would be willing to beta-read it and bounce ideas back-and-forth to make sure everything flows well and no one is terribly out of character. This could potentially end up extending through the entirety of the story, if the volunteer is willing to continue.
#2: I need someone to help me build cases. What's a Conan story without a case every now and again? I've picked out spots where I want to put cases, and chosen what characters I want involved in each case and who solves it/how the solution gets presented. Thing is, I am primarily a fantasy writer and not very good at putting together a case. This was proven during my abortive attempt at taking over as GM for the DCRP group that met on the synIRC server. (It has since fallen apart due to various things, though the archives are still available to read at dcrpa.blogspot.com if you are interested.)
Please let me know if you are willing to assist in any way, I greatly appreciate it, and I hope to have the story finished enough to begin posting before the end of 2013. Thank you for your consideration. *bows*
