Chapter 19

"You despise me."
"Oh really? And here I thought you're my biggest fan..."
"Not anymore!"

He grinned.

"BRAT, NOW!!!"

"What?!"

Moving fast, Kaito jumped out of a nearby tree behind and grabbed her. Tight.
They both hit the dusty path.

"We got her... Tie her up!"
"You don't have to say it, old man... I'm already planning to."

With only a swish of his hand, ropes appeared from under the ground and held her captive.
"Just a little trick."

"Hahahahahahaha!!!! Fools!"
"What is so funny?"
"All of you can all go to hell!"

All of a sudden, black-clothed men surrounded them.
They're completely outnumbered.

"Look who's in a cinch now! You two better say your prayers."

Sweat trickled down Kaito's cheeks.
He can feel the searing heat from the sun.

He glanced at Kogoro.

He just stood there.
Like nothing's happened.

And to top it all, he's grinning. Widely.

Kaito wondered if insanity finally overcame the old man.

"Do what you do best, brat."
"Huh?"

He looked down.
And he saw a shadow.

Of a bird.

What bird?

A hawk.
Hovering above them, flying free.

"Is that..."
"Watson?"

"Heads up, Kuroba!"

Kaito smiled.
He don't need to look up.
It's them.

Hakuba, Heiji, and Akako, wearing parachutes.
On their palms, machine-guns.

"Do what you do best, brat."
The expert magician threw one of his famous pink smoke towards the enemy.
"Time to escape!"

War ensued.

The enemies can see nothing. Smoke everywhere.
The black men were taken aback... They fell one by one.







The bloody commotion ended in a flash.
And cleaning the mess they've made was hard work.
But it was nothing.

"I thought we were dead meat. That was just cool!"
"Well, you can say that again."
"Wish I can do that too."
"You had your break."

"Don't be too happy about it."
"Oh, come on, uncle. Don't be too grump--"
Before Heiji can finish, Kogoro held up of what seemed to be loosened ropes.
"She escaped."

"Another problem for us."
Hakuba sighed as he called his dear friend Watson.



"I'm just wondering, who taught all of you how to handle deadly weapons?"

ACT 1 - Kaito's Invitation
Kaito: It's fish.
Aoko: Yup, fish.
Kaito: You're inviting me to dinner but you're saying that your dad will prepare fish?
Aoko: Yup.
Kaito: ARE YOU INSANE?! You know I hate fish!
Aoko: Then.... you won't be going?
Kaito: Of course not.
Aoko: *holding a mop* You might change your mind...
Kaito: *sweats heavily* O-o-o-o-o-okay... just... put that mop down...
Aoko: *unusually happy* Yay! I'll invite the others too.
Kaito: *whispering* What a demon...
Aoko: You said something?
Kaito: Uhhhh.... N-n-n-no...
Aoko: Good.

ACT 2 - Discussion Part One
Ran: I'll invite Shinichi.
Aoko: Great.
Ran: ^^
Aoko: Tell me, Ran, how come Shinichi always follow your orders?
Ran: Easy as pie... Just shake him up a little.
Aoko: Oh. *thinking* I'm doing the right thing with Kaito.

ACT 3 - Shinichi's Invitation
Shinichi: NO.
Ran: What did you say?
Shinichi: I said, no.
Ran: What are you saying? Aoko's invited us to dinner and you won't be going?
Shinichi: Yup. You heard me.
Ran: ...
Shinichi: I'll just watch Detective Conan at my house. That'd be way too cooler.
Ran: *boiling angry* Then you won't mind if I kick your ass now? Because it would be cool.
Shinichi: Yeah, it's alr-- huh? *looks at Ran* Wait!
Ran: Hiyah! Take that, Detective Freak!
Shinichi: *nose bleeding* Wa-wa-wa-wait... I'm go-go-going...
Ran: I caaan't heeeaaar yooouuuu....
Shinichi: I SAID I'M GOING WITH YOU AT AOKO'S HOUSE!
Ran: Don't shout... *breaks nearby pole*
Shinichi: *shivering* Ummm... That was a little uncalled f-f-for...

ACT 4 - Discussion Part Two
Kaito: What the hell happened to you?
Shinichi: Huh?
Kaito: You got too many bandages.
Shinichi: Do I need to explain? *pointing at Ran*
Kaito: Ummm.... no.

ACT 5 - Dinner
Aoko: *prays* Please bless our food, my mop, Kaito, blah, blah, blah, etc.
Ran: *prays* Please bless our food, my fist, Shinichi, blah, blah, blah, etc.
Kaito and Shinichi: *prays* Please deliver us from evil and these devils called girls... etc.
All: AMEN. Itadakimasu!

ACT 6 - Fish
Kaito: *looking at his plate* Fish....
Aoko: Eat up, Kaito... It's delicious... *holding mop*
Ran: ^^
Shinichi: *whispering* Could it be... Ran is teaching Aoko how to handle Kaito! Poor guy.

ACT 7 - Eat
Aoko: Here, Kaito, open wide! *shoves spoon to mouth*
Shinichi: Wow... It's his 20th plate of fish.
Kaito: Can't take no more... *faints*
Aoko: HELP! Kaito collapsed!
Ran: Quick! Let's bring him to the hospital!
Shinichi: I knew this would happen.

ACT 8 - Hospital
Doctor: ... and overdosage of fish and fish poisoning. He'll be staying with us for a few months.
Aoko: Oh.
