Stranger in Tokyo (Michael Jackson-inspired Detective Conan

Post by The Mask »

I tried posting this a few years ago in this forum, hoping that people would like it. However, it didn't turn as I hoped it would, so I took it off.

Now, I tried listening to it again today, and I'm led by the impression that this song isn't that bad. Sure, the singing may be mediocre (and maybe comparable to Conan's  ;D), but the song still feels okay with me. And the lyrics is still darn good in my opinion.

So I've decided to post it again here and see what you have to say about it.

SUMMARY:

STRANGER IN TOKYO
A Song Parody

Tune: "Stranger in Moscow" by Michael Jackson

The lyrics are based on the anime series Detective Conan. Specifically, it is based on the moment that the 17-year-old high school detective Shinichi Kudo (Jimmy Kudo) was forced to drink a mysterious drug that eventually shrunk him into a young boy the size of a six-year-old. This event would then lead him to be known as Conan Edogawa.

Constructive comments are appreciated. If the singing wasn't good, well let's just say that Conan isn't good at singing either. :-)

LYRICS:

I was lying in the street
Threatened life, feeling the heat
Swiftly shrunken is my face
Teenage days seem far away
Evil poison consumin' me
Black men's eyes won't let me be
On and on and on it came
Wish this day would just let me be

CHORUS:
How does it feel (How does it feel)
How does it feel
How does it feel
When you're a boy and you're small in size

Here deserted from my fame
Wand'ring child without a name
MPD was searchin' me
Hear my tale or just let me be
Then my doctor friend saw my face
Brighter days will drown the pain
On and on and on it came
And again, and again, and again
(Hear my tale or just let me be)

CHORUS 2:
How does it feel (How does it feel)
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel (How does it feel)
How does it feel
How does it feel
When you're a boy and you're small in size

(INSTRUMENTAL)

How does it feel (How does it feel)
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel (How does it feel)
How does it feel
How does it feel
When you're a boy and you're small in size

Like a stranger in Tokyo (Oh I must say)
Like a stranger in Tokyo (Oh I must say)
We're talking danger
We're talking danger, babe
Like a stranger in Tokyo
We're talking danger
We're talking danger, babe
Like a stranger in Tokyo
I'm livin' lonely
I'm livin' lonely, babe
Like a stranger in Tokyo

Tokyo kinda fits weirdly, cause its three syllables, not sure if Japan would work though either.

Otherwise it wasn't too bad. And you might want to learn to breath for singing and you may even get better than what you think you can do. ^^

Mafia: The only place where you can find Gin and Akai married together with 8 kids all disguised as Akai. Or something epic like that.

When I originally made this song, I actually thought that Tokyo had two syllables. Like To-Kyo or Tok-Yo. Japan wouldn't find well, in my opinion. The reason why I chose Tokyo, aside from the fact that it was the setting in the first place, is that it rhymes with Moscow, which was the one used in the original song.

I'll try to keep your advice in mind. I might try to do this again, since I sang this two years ago (and I think my singing has improved a bit since then). Hopefully, it would sound better.
