If you have glimpsed progression in the case that has not yet been covered by DCTP releases, this is not the correct topic to be discussing in. Spoilers from the latest case, no matter their source, may be discussed in the other topic on this case, which can be found here. Please read the rules in the first post of that topic as well!

Why is this necessary?

Due to the files making their way onto the internet in full much earlier than before, we will be experimenting with having spoiler free discussion threads for all the latest cases. This will give everyone the opportunity to proceed with following and discussing the series in the manner they are most comfortable with.

What happens with the other type of discussion topic?

They stay exactly the same. The topics that we have been discussing the files in while using spoiler boxes need to operate by the exact same rules as before, especially for the time being. There are several reasons for this. Foremost, people may accidentally stumble into that topic (either from the index or without seeing that there is a "spoiler free" topic available). As a result, the old rule of "if DCTP hasn't released it, use a spoiler box" will still apply as much as ever, at least for now.

Could someone explain to me what this tennis alternative was that they spoke about? The only tennis game prior to this was an old case with Bourbon, no? Thanks!

They originally were going to play tennis that day, but couldn't because of the rain. Thus, they decided to go bowling instead.

That tennis case occurred because Sonoko wanted to practice with Amuro in preparation for a match against Makoto. Makoto incorporated tennis into his martial arts training and sent a message to Sonoko asking her for a tennis date when he returned to Japan. This current case is the followup on that promise, only it got rained out.

Am I the only person excited to see Makoto?

Also, he's obviously not the culprit, and why does everyone always look so suspicious once they find out who Kogoro is?

I am too. I believe there's more of Makoto than being Sonoko's boyfriend. XD And yeah, that's why we only have 2 suspects this time. ((:

So let me get this straight. Assuming Sera IS Akai's sister, theres this family with Sera, Akai and another person in it, with the latter being the most intelligent.
(Did we ever see Akai fighting? But as an FBI agent I guess he'd have to have some training, and he's generally great at everything he does...). Akai is at least Conan's level. The only one more intelligent than Conan is his dad. Would that make Sera Conan's aunt? XD

Anyway, I love how Sera is drawn in this chapter. And yay for Makoto. I wonder if Sonoko will convince the two to finish their fight?

Okiya is actually the third (intelligent) sibling, and doesn't look like either Akai or Sera because he keeps his eyes closed all the time.

If this turns out to be true, I will laugh and cry, probably at the same time. It would be completely crazy for Gosho to do, which would be awesome, but I'd hate for Akai to really be dead.

I approve of this theory. I like Okiya and how he looks, and part of me just don't want him to be just a disguise. XD

A lot of theories supports that Okiya is Akai, and even though they are quite convincing, I cannot get used to these theories. Okiya is my favorite. Akai is likable as well, but he isn't (my) Okiya.

It could be that all the hints that Okiya is Akai is just to mislead us and all the similarities (such as their left handedness) are because they're siblings. I don't like it though, only because that would mean Akai is really dead.

I noticed that Ikeda Shuuichi (池田 秀一), Char Aznable's voice actor, shares a kanji "eda" in his family name with Haneda Shūkichi (羽田 秀吉). I know the Shuukichi/Shuuichi thing had been pointed out already, but I wasn't sure about the "eda" part.

...still haven't realized the relevance of the kanji. D'you mind explaining, Chekhov?

I think she means that this increases the likelihood that Shuuichi and Shuukichi could be related :/
