This topic is for SPOILER FREE discussions of the current manga case. If you have glimpsed progression in the case that has not yet been covered by DCTP releases, this is not the correct topic to be discussing in. Spoilers from the latest case, no matter their source, may be discussed in the other topic on this case, which can be found here. Please read the rules in the first post of that topic as well!

In other words: If DCTP has not released the file in question, it is NOT to be discussed in this topic, not even in spoiler boxes.



Why is this necessary?

Due to the files making their way onto the internet in full much earlier than before, we will be experimenting with having spoiler free discussion threads for all the latest cases. This will give everyone the opportunity to proceed with following and discussing the series in the manner they are most comfortable with.

What happens with the other type of discussion topic?

They stay exactly the same. The topics that we have been discussing the files in while using spoiler boxes need to operate by the exact same rules as before, especially for the time being. There are several reasons for this. Foremost, people may accidentally stumble into that topic (either from the index or without seeing that there is a "spoiler free" topic available). As a result, the old rule of "if DCTP hasn't released it, use a spoiler box" will still apply as much as ever, at least for now.

The trick is probably related to what sonoko did, even though the cola can appeared empty it was in fact full, its highly probably that the turtle is still there and its disappearance is just a trick.

when the carpet started to move, it served as a diversion so that some sort of screen would be inserted in the aquarium, thats my guess.

I thought about that too (gigantic aquarium sticker FTW!), but the problem is the note that was left inside the aquarium, so that kinda indicates that what we see at the last page is in fact the inside of the aquarium. Moreover, the aquarium can be seen from the sides as well, so putting a giant screen only at the front isn't going to help.

maybe conan should call it and it will ring in sera sans Jacked. She kinda looks like his cousin and i think the further story development will show akai being part of the Kuroba Family Tree.

We have to introduce this into the mafia rules - pinching Sera injures Nakamori for one round!

My first KID hunch was Sonoko too. Her toilet comment seemed strange. And maybe there's a trick to make a turtle hide? But that wouldn't last for long I guess, it would need to breath after some time. But if Nakamori jumps into the tank immediately, it might be useful.

Sera has no way to know his stress level.

Sera only has the way to know a) who pinched her cheek, b) how much right does that person have to do so, and c) what punishment would be fitting for it. The answers are a) Nakamori, b) None at all, c) The Nutcracker Suite.

I agree with Chek; my first instinct is Kid dressed as Sonoko, since apparently she went to the restroom with no one noticing.  That's not to say he couldn't have then changed into a Kogoro costume.

Because I mentioned last night while talking to Chek that Amuro showing up in a Kid case would be much better than Kid showing up in a plot case.

Also discussing the case is more plausible than Amuro asking her on a date, right, Chek?

With Jii and Phantom Lady, technically three people could be disguised. Or Kid could have gone as one, and then switched to another midstream. Or he could be trying to muddy the water by bringing in more people. I suppose we might hear more about the bathroom and Kogoro's circumstances for coming next chapter. We also have the issue of the jewels possibly being fake to consider as well, especially because so much space was devoted to explaining how Jirokichi jumped the gun by buying them. (We had freaking glass pistols before, so a robot turtle wouldn't be surprising after that. ...and I am only half joking.  :|) If the jewel does turn out to be fake and part of one of those fake item black market scam rings, Phantom Lady might have a legit reason for showing up since those bother her.

Overall case is gonna be meh. Would be better with fish.

Maybe there were some originally, but somehow they all died/disappeared. Also, there is nowhere out of the water for that turtle to climb onto in case it gets tired of swimming. No heat lamp either. I feel sort of bad for it.

Two things I'd like to point out:
1) What does a turtle like this eat? Since it is said to be in the aquarium all the time...
2) The story of the jewel. What the hell happened with the previous owner? Why did she act like that while in mortal danger? Did it have to do with the organization from MK?
