>Tohru Furuya

Welp.

I know, they said it's unclear that he'll reprise his role as Mamoru Chiba, but if Kotono Mitsuishi is reprising her role, then I don't see why he wouldn't.

But it's not a big deal, right? I mean, VAs can work in 2 projects at once, right?

...Right?

I can only hope they cast someone awesome for Amuro Tohru if Mr. Furuya is unavailable. Someone like Mamoru Miyano, or Hiroshi Kamiya, or Masakazu Morita...

1-Amuro will appear in Conan way before summer 2013. By then we'll probably be around the mystery train case if not even later.
2-Amuro honestly isn't that big a role.
3-VAs can obviously have multiple roles at the same time : Mitsuhiko's VA does Chopper in One Piece and Haibara's VA does Musashi (Jessie) in Pokemon.
4-Even if they don't get him for whatever reason (too expensive, he doesn't want to etc.), it's really not that important. In fact I'm not particularly fond of Furuya's voice.

Oh yeah, but summer 2013 is this project's air time, not the start of its production.

But anyway.

Yet.

...LOL, you're right. Then again, Furuya Tohru isn't exactly an underused VA.

And as for this, I kinda agree.

I'd prefer Mamoru Miyano, actually. Hell, the Gundam connection would still be there, even.

He's what the last 150 episodes were about.
He's what the last 150 UNDERWHELMING episodes were about.

And everyone here knows how much we heard him talk in the last 150 episodes.

In my post, big of a role = lots of lines. It has nothing to do with plot relevance.

1-Production might start a few months earlier, that's true. Regardless, it will have been quite some time since Amuro's introduction.

2-True. But if it's like with the other BO members, he won't have that many lines.

3-Yep. He did a lot of roles simultaneously in the 90s. BTW he's currently doing some voice acting in the new Saint Seiya anime adaptation.

4-Mamoru Miyano would be nice too. Regarding Toru, he actually divorced with Vermouth's VA, Mami Koyama, so having them voice two characters who interact could be quite funny/awkward.  ;D

Kind of a weird topic.

Megumi Hayashibara has been for years the voice actress of Haibara and Musashi simultaneously. Along with these two roles, she has participated in many other roles.
Same for Rie Kugimiya, Kappei Yamaguchi, etc.

Well, let's remember that Conan's VA, Takayama Minami, divorced Aoyama Gosho, yet she's still voicing Conan. That should be quite as funny/awkward as the situation you describe. LOL

VAs can work more than 5 roles in the same time ,in the end its a real job they get paid alot for it more you have many roles more you have a lot of money
Megumi Hayashibara has two radio shows and 6 movie roles besides anime roles and music . kazuha VA has a cd released early this year  :-\

Let's face it: Conan voice actors outside of the main cast hardly have a full-time job. The guy who does Camel's voice probably gets the call from their agent saying they're needed for "Agent Camel" again and then require a reminder as to what series it's for.

In other words: Not much to worry 'bout I don't think.

This. It's the nature of voice acting. Half the time they don't even remember voicing the role by the time it airs. They are called, go into studio, do their part in 1-3 takes, go home and don't hear anything until they are needed again or there is a fan response and are bombarded with emails sometimes months later.

Also, it isn't odd for a voice actor to have several acting jobs at once. Really good voice actors usually work at least 3 shows at any given time.
