Well just read the double release and wow I don't know what going on anymore. Good to see Gosho hasn't forgotten the tape recording but what's this with silver bullet? And the way Sera just looked menacingly at Conan because there's no way of escaping ahh man so confused right now. Oh and can't wait to see how Conan solves it
for those who read Bakuman. this is explained before. about a certain method of doing connecting any case from the past with the current case.

I don't think he knew what was said on the tapes when he wrote it originally, but he knew he would come back to it in some capacity when the time was right and make it jive with whatever had happened since and was going on now--if he had forgotten it altogether, that would've been fine all the same. It's a convenient storytelling device to rely on in that way.

Personally, I also think like that. I dont believe any weekly mangaka able to predict a case for 3 years in advance.
I also think that this case is like a summary / some piece of puzzle that will connect all the clue we already have in the past.

Like some correction for the missing link, an answer for questions... and a new level confrontation of Conan and Black Org.
So when he try to make this case, I bet Gosho read all of Conan manga!!! 77 volumes

he may already make the plan of "silver bullet" (ever since Vermouth case), just he hadn't made the case now...
I wish this is conclusion of Bourbon arc, or else it'll be very anticlimax, the hype is already building so high now.

I guess to some point Gosho had a plan but plans are permanently changing because you get better ideas on how to develop the characters and how to make it more interesting for the readers. There has to be a read line in everycase something he works towards to.
Several little destinations and stops are planned but this time it HAS to be a big one or fans will go berserk

I reckon he had a plan but plans can be altered.

Yes, I think he already planed the major plots and clues and also probably destinations and devices (like Sherry being trapped on a train/transport medium).
I don't think he planed on other details so much, like why the current murderer has a grudge and such "more banal" stuff that's not directly related to the main plot.

Yes, Gosho said he'd planned the ending; it just took a while to get there.
