I just realized this recently, If I remember correctly, He used to have two identical fold mobiles, to help him hide his real identity (from ran's suspicion, etc). well, I haven't been really paying attention to cases if they're not related to BO, Okiya, Amuro, though, so I might missed this issue.

Vermouth too. is it just a coincidence?

and in file 804 there's a free tablet (not sure whether it's an ipad though) given to Miwako. if it's only for showing her a livecast of Takagi's condition, it can be a normal mobile phone right? (sorry for the bad English). what's with Gosho and Apple?

maybe i'm just making a big deal out of a minor thing. sorry
and sorry if someone has already made a post about this topic.

2) Apple isn't the only company that produces tablets and smartphones.

it's just that if he changes his mobile phones, doesn't he need to change both? due to the two identical mobiles' purpose

well, he doesn't have to change both. as Shinichi, he has to use the bowtie anyway and is therefore not in one room with someone else who is not in the secret. And if someone finds him with his old (Shinichi's Phone he could just say that he still wants to keep it because he hasn't switched all the data to the other phone or there are some functions only on the old phone or he even had to change number (you have to ask and pay if you want to keep your old number) and someone could try to reach him with his old number. that way it is actually less suspicious. (eg. only his parents still have his old number and he wants to talk to them in private. so he can leave when he is phoned) and he also decreases the chance of mixing them up

The only problem with not changing both is the fact that if he uses the Shinichi phone and Ran/someone happens to see him, they'll ask "You got a new phone already/went back to your old phone?" That could cause some questions and be very difficult to answer :V

It is actually more likely that it is an android phone and tablet. iPhone is not as well liked in Japan due to lack of native functions.

like explained, he could say that only some people still have the number for his old phone and they are people he wants to be able to reach him anytime so he keeps that one with him as a kind of always-open line.
If he says that his parents are among the persons, I think Ran or the other persons would understand it as him wanting a special "connection" with them and let him speak in private

Technology is never consistent in DC, not even phones. I remember a friend of mine bringing up that Ran's phone color in the anime constantly changes, too. I wouldn't really worry too much about it.

Sony Ericsson is the brand. they have different type:
Xperia is the smartphone type.
Walkman is the music phone
cybershot / vivaz is the camera phone.

they already use Sony Ericsson as a brand for long, but RECENTLY the Sony buy the Ericsson share and make the phone into SONY and not using Sony Ericsson anymore

gosho use ONY and not ONY RICSSON means that he follow the latest news!!!

Yes, as soon as I saw the picture provided by the OP, I thought to myself: "this looks like an Xperia more than anything else".. Gosho, can you ever stop being my hero!! this is too much!!
