Is Conan imortal?

This theory came from "Why is Vermouth immortal?" what, since DC isn't our supernatural anime, can only have a rather scientific answer so there isn't that many possible explanations:
1) APTX can cause the body to revert age and keep it that way and Vermouth toke it
this point can itself be explained in 2 different ways:
1-1) the side-effect of APTX takes x years of whoever toke it (Vermouth was older than Shinishi when she toke the APTX so she reverted to a later age).
This point can be excluded because there's no hint to Vermouth aging which would be needed to the theory (although she could be masked the whole time so I figured out it would be nice to state)
1-2) APTX, when does not kill, only reverts the age of people with less than x years old; only keeping the appearance and body functions of those who were older than x years old (hormonal reasons maybe?)
2) The organization have something more advanced that APTX that grants immortality
This point seems rather unbiased taking in account that the plot runs around Shinishi and the APTX, although it can be a failed attempt of the organization to "revive the dead". (Also it could explain why they were able to keep to good job for 50 years, immortal co-workers sure come in handy.
Since Conan not ever stated something about growing up I guess it can be explained by "1)", or that APTX has a side effect similar to 2) due to it's nature (same resources maybe?)
Well there you go, opinion stated and open to discussion.
Notes: Immortal refers to "not aging" not "can't be killed"
The argument "But, not everyone else around him is growing also!" Won't be heard by my person since it doesn't justify that he's immortal or not, but justifies that I have no reasons to believe that he is, what I in fact don't

It probably also works to note the nature of the APTX-4869 drug.
-Haibara mentioned that APTX-4869 induces Apoptosis (cell suicide) and Telomerase (controlling of cell growth.)
I'm not particularly knowledgeable in biology, but based on this, it would likely mean that the shrinking phenomenon is mainly caused by Apoptosis. But since Shinichi didn't die from it, Telomerase was said to have activated at some point. Telemerase affects aging--it controls how the cell can grow. Without Telomeres, a cell can grow in an uncontrolled manner (like cancer, in some ways). Since Telomerase has some part in the whole shrinking phenomenon, it's likely that its effect was enhanced.
It's possible that Conan/Vermouth/Haibara aren't exactly immortal, but since their Telomeres were lengthened due to the effect of the drug/substance, their aging was significantly slowed.
(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telomerase mentions that there has been scientific questions about the possibility of using Telomerase as anti-aging therapy. If Gosho based the APTX-4869 drug around this theory, then it might mean that Conan's aging has only been slowed to inhuman standards, but not necessarily stopped.)

I'd say the manga, as a whole and not for plot relevance, feels immortal (since no one has aged for years except the technology!!). But, that would be a different story for a different thread... =.= It's just like Charlie Brown in a sense....
With this mindset, I don't feel that Conan has gained immortality from the drug.

It's also unknown if Vermouth even took the APTX. I don't think Conan gained 'immortality' through the APTX, but it's an interesting theory.

I think in Volume 38 or 39 Haibara mentioned that the drug was not supposed to be a "Dead rasing drug", but rather something which wuld be appreciated only by a few bunch of people.
This would mean that the drug was not meant to be something related to immortality. But since Haibara was in te project too, I think she was interested in that topic as well. She may have joined the research half-voluntarily, maybe because she believed in her father's true dream or something along this line.

well obviously this means Haibara needs to cut Conan and Vermouth's heads off
because as you know, there can only be one

We should ask Akako about this.

again, how could vermouth could have taken aptx4869 when it was first thought of as an experimental drug (gin said it was a poison in the first ep/file, actually) she wouldn't risk her life for that unless vermouth was also working with the miyanos and took the very first version of the drug that shiho's parents created (or something of that sort)

Since the time in DC is weird, we can't be sure that Kudo staying in Conan's form for too long won't bring any consequences.
And maybe Vermouth was old or about to die then she took some different kind of drug(which, maybe, have something to do with Anokata) and have been that age forever ? Maybe she payed a price for maintaining her unageness.
Interesting theory :)...but, there are flaws.

1- She hasn't been aging for a long time now, how could she take an yet to be created drug? Why would the organization do tests/researchs on a drug that they already had and knew how it worked to begin with?
1-2 Hmm.If you assume Vermouth took APTX(a drug, to be exact, because there was none APTX when she hipotetically to a drug), then when is the age limit? I mean, you can easily assume that she took the drug when she was already an adult or an old woman, right? Then, again, this age limit would be highly unlikely in Vermouth's case.
Well, time in DC is uncertain, so maybe in manga/anime's time, one year still hasn't passed. That's maybe why Conan never said anything about growing up.
